Re: now foil kiters are saying their kites drift better

My point of view. The biggest influence in light winds or even drift is just low body weight + good kite and foil control. I can foil a 12m2 tube kite in around 5_10knots, while another rider is on his 16 ram air and wondering why he cant get going screaming is lungs out. He's around around 90kg. I ...

Re: The Duotone Wing

I think it is silly to try to market these wings to kitesurfers/windsurfers. We already have the power, speed, light wind, and carving advantages. For SUPers though I can see it working out. Many SUPers I know don't kite due the "dangers" , gear setup annoyance, and high cost and this "extreme" spor...

Re: The Duotone Wing

Someone mentioned this in a prior post : 1. It can be windsurfed, but it's slower than a windsurfer. 2. The sail isn't see through like a windsurfer and it isn't above you like a kitesurfer, so you can run into more stuff 3. The sail is handheld 100% of the time so gusts can either knock you off, or...

Re: The Duotone wing

I think we are seeing the "birth" of the bastard child X-over of watersports. It does everything but badly. `low performance board, wing and foil compared to other sports. For millineals X-tremers, were kitesurfing seems too dangerous and windsurfing too difficult. Perfect for resorts. SUP sells a l...

Re: Kite spots with left handed waves

Wonder why that is. Just plain luck or is there a physical land/earth attribute that make incredible nice goofy waves?
Fiji cloud, teahupoo, pipeline, nazare...all lefts.
Peru is known to have the worlds most consistent and longest lefts.

Re: Stop this thing

Head down wind, crouch down and drop the foil? I ride "carving style" short board and no straps though, very easy to bail and go 'time out' when the speed gets out of control ;)
Must be quite a rush being wide stance, strapped down at full power and speed. Not my cup of tea.

Re: easily reset chickenloops

I completely agree. Over a year riding, couple times week, with the new system haven't had a single accidental release. I only surfkite in big swell though, I dont mega loop. Still nice to know that if you need to quick release for whatever reason, you can easily reset with one hand very quickly. Ma...

Re: easily reset chickenloops

People dont seem to realize this. To reset the ozone release you just insert the buckle in, like a seat belt. No pushing up on the release to lock it in. Very fast and cant imagine something any easier. In a few years this type of system will probably be standard for all kite makers. https://www.fac...

Re: Self landing and launching

Has mentioned it really depends on your spot and how safe it is. In lighter winds bigger kites it is easier to self land and launch. Practice the different techniques in 10_15 knots wind. In stronger winds it is still easy to launch, but a lot harder to self land without good technique *or just rele...

Re: Is it just me or does pumping a foil...

Like pumping a surf board but goofier. Not very stylish but effective (sometimes...). I doubt 10 years on will make pumping any more stylish.
What I foresee are foils that build speed my quick turning, like a skateboard?
