Re: Tips & Ticks - Tracknut Sleds

Everyone around here just jams some foam material into the tracks to keep the nuts from moving.

Re: Ram Air Wing from Ozone

In the early days of kiteboarding rigid battens along the leading edge were tried.. without much success. I recall Gastra had a kite with both an inflated leading edge and a carbon batten along it. It didn't catch on. However wings are much smaller and perhaps a rigid batten might help hold the wing...

Re: Foot straps keep pulling out

Blue threadlocker should help. Be sure you have several turns of the screw into the board.. at least four rotations. Otherwise you need longer screws. Often you need to tighten the screws after the first session and then they shouldn't need any more attention.

Re: Ram Air Wing from Ozone

There have been two skin LEI kites tried for many years. I remember flying one probably twenty years ago. No significant advantage but noticeably heavier. We shall see whether this Ozone two skin wing offers any advantages.. I am skeptical. CG (and I fly Ram air kites and I usually think high...

Re: Baja kiting questions

I agree with the comments above regarding wind. I have been to both LV and LB several times. On marginal days you are slightly more likely to get kiting in LV than LB. But remember that LB is a bigger town with more accommodation choices, more shops, and more places to eat in walking distance. In LV...

.. there must be a reason it blew out there in the first place!
I have repaired many blown out tips like this. The failure is usually because the user failed to properly anchor the bladder by ensuring it is folded into the fabric at the tip, thereby keeping it attached to the tip.

It looks to me like someone forgot to install the bolts that connect the mast and fuselage..

Re: Soul 10m v2 front stalling

I have over a hundred sessions on my Soul 12m V2 and I find it a very stable kite. When occasionally it gets upwind, it drifts back very nicely.. I find it a well behaved kite.

Re: Washing foil double skin kites

I have been flying my foil kites for years in saltwater environments. I have never rinsed them.. except occasionally to wash wet sand off. You can roll up and store a wet kite as long as you expect to use it soon ..which will dry it. Don't store a wet kite for long periods or mildew can grow. Mildew...

Re: Triton Foils releases the first accessible monowing: Triton T1

Foiling foot switches are a bit more difficult with the T1 because it is less pitch stable. But you will master it and it forces you to improve your technique.
