Re: Red Bull King Of The Air 2020 Qualifier and Maui Kite Festival 2019

Correct that only 1 wildcard spot will be filled from the the Maui Kitefest. Perhaps this is Dimitri's big chance to join the King of the Air as a potential wildcard? I was talking with one of last year's KOTA competitors yesterday and there were 70+ videos submitted for 6 wildcard spots. Tough comp...

Re: North kiteboarding 2020..

There is no change in the company or production, we basically have a new brandname/logo on our kites starting in 2019. Much like my name on this site used to be "Dan at North" and is now "Dan at Duotone", yet I still feel and look like the same person. If you are still confused on this matter, you ...

I'm thinking of doing a 2 week trip to Maui either early April or May for waves and foiling. Which is a better month or are both reasonably good?
There are almost no waves on Maui in May. April is the end of the North shore wave season.

Re: 30.4m Jump on Woo? Now 30.7m!!

Today I lost the lock clip of my Woo3 mount. After Some calls to local shops I heard that woo stopped selling to other dealers, they only sell direct now but they got no accessories for sale any more so i am not able to mount my Woo anymore. Together with the no-firmwares and the price drop of the ...

Re: Don't buy a Core kite before you read this!

It is not just COREporate kites that does this. Pretty much every corporate kiteboarding company has this attitude. Same for distributors, and retailers. There may be a facade of "caring" and "supporting the sport and rider" to sucker money out of people like you (and me), but the bottom line is wh...

I am your weight, live on Maui and a 10m is my biggest kite. I get 90% of the days. You will probably be on 7m the most. If you have to choose, I say 7,9
What month would you say has best reliable winds ?
April through October is 90%+

Re: Kahului, Maui kite trip

I live on Maui and kite most days. The flatwater spot is Ka'a Point or Propool at the main beach Kanaha by the airport. there is no flat water on the Kihie side as far as I have found. The main draw for Maui in the fall is that the waves on the North shore have returned. There is always chop and a l...

Re: Hotel Recommendation Maui

Get a VRBO in Paia or stay at the Paia Inn http://paiainn.com/ would be another option. You can kite off of Baldwin Beach if you are intermediate.
