Re: How I built my own kite surfing bar

kite_hh when you are testing be mindful of how many times your safety line gets twisted around the center line. At first is will not be a problem but over time it will develop a memory and it will be difficult to keep it from twisting. I don't know why it does this but it does and its annoying, I su...

Re: Iberostar Playa Pilar Cayo Guillermo

I would add as I typically do on threads about Cuba... it is not a windy destination. There are mild easterly winds most days maybe 10 knots the 15+ knot days are rare unless you get lucky... and I have but I have been there over a dozen times. I have had wind everyday and I have had no wind for 10 ...

Re: Iberostar Playa Pilar Cayo Guillermo

Hi I am just back from Guillermo. Stayed at the Sol. Several families with kids there seemed to be having a nice time. Its not posh by any means but more than adequate - depends on your standards... You might want to look at the Melia if you want a little more upscale. The resorts at the Pillar end...

Re: Why isn't sliding rope bar more prevalent?

I loved the slider while learning to hydrofoil.. really helped with toeside tacks, imho. Once I progressed to jumping it felt a little weird and with less control.. not a huge deal, actually.. But my biggest issue with it was self launching in powered conditions (so that you go bigger on hydrofoil)...

Re: Unintended suicide mode on Core sensor 2+ bars

Shoot the guy that let it go before you had two hands on the bar? You would be waiting a long time before I put two hands on the bar... I always launch with one hand on the bar and one hand near or on my safety... you shouldn't need two hands on the bar to launch a kite... you are only steering it ...

Re: Unintended suicide mode on Core sensor 2+ bars

so scary moving it near land. There's all kinds of stuff on land that can damage your kite: trees bushes rocks. I would have left over the water, less likely to get damaged there also that's your launcher wouldn't have had to run so far. Glad nobody got hurt, looks like it was blowing 30 knots. I w...

Re: Unintended suicide mode on Core sensor 2+ bars

I had a botched launch today.. The chicken loop somehow separated from the hook on a gust and I found myself in unintended suicide mode thanks to famous German Engineering (look up my other thread on that)... I think that PU tube is too stiff in low temps. After watching it a few times, I guess I c...

Re: Lake Choko at La Ventana

The thing I heard is all the farming horse and cow shit is floating into the lake with rain and that’s why people avoid it choosing turquoise waters of sea instead. Is water alright in the lake? I heard the same thing.... maybe thats how they keep it to themselves, obviously with all those park sli...
