Re: Gong strutless impressions

What’s about Gong 12 ‘s weight? Is it difficult for water-launching in 8 knots? I would say is as difficult to relaunch in 8 knots as any other LW kite. Once the kite is wet you pretty much lose any advantage you may have had with a light weight design, and now you have a kite with no struts sittin...

Hi, do you think it could go lower. What wing size you were on?

Thanks
I was on a Liquid Force Impulse 24" surf/kite wing.

It might go lower in a good steady breeze, when you get down below 8 knots you know how the lulls can be the killer

My impression is that Gong Strutless flyes in less wind than Storm Voyager.
What was the lowest wind you were flying Gong?
I've flown and hydrofoiled with the 12m Gong strutless in 8 knots

Re: Who are the foilers?

I forgot about e-foil completely. Looking at calm summer waters of Lake Michigan I wish I could spend $2000 on mast-mounted motor, couple of board-mounted battery cases and a remote to ride around. Maybe one day e-foils will get to remoteless control - a-la Onewheel. I hope e-foils catch up. They w...

Re: Cuba or Colombia in March

I’m going to disagree with the Cuba low wind comments. I’ve only been a few times, and have had one day of no wind. My big kite is an 11m. March is a good time to go, April the winds tend to back off. Windguru has been spot on with their forecasts. Grand muthu is a nice new resort (nicest) in Cayo ...

Re: Action Cams in 2019 whats everyone using

I am curious about the Insta 360x cam. I just saw a really awesome snowboard clip on Youtube shot on the Insta. I could see some kite applications there too. Wow I just watched the product video on that cam... pretty impressive but 5.7K! What do people use to edit with? I tried to edit 4k with my L...

Re: Cuba or Colombia in March

I can only comment on Cuba, specifically Cayo Guillermo, it is a great spot to kite but winds are pretty light most days. I hydrofoil so that is perfect for me. The resorts especially the ones you can kite near on Cayo Guillermo are not what I would consider "nice" they are okay, older, in need of r...

Re: Gong strutless impressions

I’ve flown the V1 6m and I think 9m and the V2 12m. The 6m works well the 9m has a tendency for the canopy to fold over the leading edge when setting up for duck tacks, the 12m is good but I’d say you are pushing it’s ability sub 8knots.
6knots requires a ram air kite.
