Re: A good spanking by mother nature.

Sounds nasty! not kiting but mother nature sure gave me a kicking. The one that stands out the most was a beating I got when kayak surfing in the south of France, near Hossegor. At the time I was a very fit and into kayaking in a big way, competing in freestyle kayaking, running rivers all over Euro...

Re: The Future of the Sport?

For a three kite quiver + bar + board and straps with 2-3 lessons and a wetsuit, you are looking at $2.5k give or take a bit. If you don't live near the water you also have to factor in travel and meal costs, even when staying at relatives houses, camping, or Walmart parking lots in a pick up truck...

Never had a problem launching the Sonic FR or 2. Trim for full power and backstall that bitch during launch to get those tips filled quickly. Gotta be pretty quick on the depower though once it’s filled. Worked every time.
I fly the 15 at the top of its range, when the tips come out, up I go.

Re: Sonic II ...Mixer issues ?

hot launching a 9m gen 1 Sonic in 25 knots.....now that was always worth a bag of popcorn. Yeah I had the 9m 1st generation sonic. The final straw as what looked like a controlled side launch in 30 knots went from controlled to greater than Olympics standard sprinting as the tips flipped out and ba...
