Re: A good spanking by mother nature.

Sounds nasty! not kiting but mother nature sure gave me a kicking. The one that stands out the most was a beating I got when kayak surfing in the south of France, near Hossegor. At the time I was a very fit and into kayaking in a big way, competing in freestyle kayaking, running rivers all over Euro...

Re: The Future of the Sport?

For a three kite quiver + bar + board and straps with 2-3 lessons and a wetsuit, you are looking at $2.5k give or take a bit. If you don't live near the water you also have to factor in travel and meal costs, even when staying at relatives houses, camping, or Walmart parking lots in a pick up truck...

Re: How fast are you really going?

When I am riding on our local flat water spot, I guess I average 28-35 mph. If I am going for a speed run on my normal board I get to 45mph when it's windy. When on my speed board I get to a little over 50 at full tilt but haven't used that board in a while. I use a Locosys gt31 or more recently my ...

Never had a problem launching the Sonic FR or 2. Trim for full power and backstall that bitch during launch to get those tips filled quickly. Gotta be pretty quick on the depower though once it’s filled. Worked every time.
I fly the 15 at the top of its range, when the tips come out, up I go.

Re: Sonic II ...Mixer issues ?

hot launching a 9m gen 1 Sonic in 25 knots.....now that was always worth a bag of popcorn. Yeah I had the 9m 1st generation sonic. The final straw as what looked like a controlled side launch in 30 knots went from controlled to greater than Olympics standard sprinting as the tips flipped out and ba...

Don't come to my beach... You either forgot to include the "/sarcasm" tag or that's one of the most       comments I've ever read on here. 5-7mph...can you even launch a foil kite in that wind without hot launching it? relax cupcake. I have known Carlos for a ver...

Re: Sonic II ...Mixer issues ?

Update: Took the kite to my local landboarding spot.....checked mixer on both sides and was out only by a few mm. Wind was around 5- 7 mph - if that - Hot launched after fully inflating kite and it worked perfectly - no tip tucks - tips stayed out perfectly. In fact the kite was one of the most wel...

I am 110kg, I use an Axis LTD 138/41.5.

It's my only main board, don't use anything else.
