Re: Recoating kite fabric

I have read the posts here with some interest as I am not opposed to some repairs and maintenance on my kite gear. I am also mindful that kites and their materials deteriorate with use, just like everything. So you buy a brand new kite for $2000 and use it 100 times then it costs you $20 a session. ...

Re: Corona Virus - Has your country banned kitesurfing?

Can kite here in Victoria Australia but any day now we may get the full lockdown. Not sure if kiting will pass for going for a walk type exercise.

Re: Cabrinha Contra 17 or 19m?

Hi Bjorn, I own a 15,17 and 19 Contra. For your weight and wind range I would consider the 15 or 17. Love my 15m. Combine with a bigger board like a Spleen or Flydoor 6 and you will enjoy lots of those light wind cruises. I only use my 19 on really really light days.

Re: Gear that has exceeded your expectations!

Agree with a previous post on door boards. The first Flydoor 4 I had was such a game changer for upwind pull. Extended my sessions. I also think the WFMG tall twin pump made pumping easier/quicker. Ripcurl fleece flashbombs they launched a few years ago with zipless also nice and warm v some of my o...

Re: 2019 Cabrinha 48/56cm and 12m

48cm with a 12m is absolutely fine, in fact if I am not mistaken Cabrinha used to have a 48cm bar with a 12m kite back when you purchased them together 10 years back. My own personal preference is 44cm for 8 and 10, 52cm for 11 and 12, and 60cm for 15 and above.

Re: Stupid things that always amaze me

My opinion.....Great work to those on the beach taking the time to take video on what happens. Hopefully new kiters take the time to assess what some of the issues are and how they would avoid these common mistakes. It is very important for your safety and others. Make sure you assess the kite spot ...

Very rarely accurate. Look at the usual meteorology sites then plus or minus 10KN and pack those kites. Also at least two boards.

Re: Cabrinha bar throw length

I have been using the cleats on Cabrinha Bars for years now and never had any issues. My opinion is from what I have read and seen on the beach the reason bars stick or lines break etc is because the user allows sand to get into the parts, and does not keep them clean and washed with fresh water.
