Re: Levitaz bionic vs Moses Comet?

The Bionic with the larger rear stab is much easier to ride. I bought one secondhand with the old gul wing, very hard to ride. The new rear stab makes it a pleasure to ride, though the short race fuselage is a challenge to start with but it gets through chop so easily. The Comet has an alloy fuselag...

Re: New to Foil Kiting... Harness?

Yep +1 for the Vega for foiling, good value. Still use a waist harness for surfboard.

Re: Tiny o-rings on flysurfer lines

Try a fishing tackle shop, they sell solid stainless rings about the right size.

Re: Buying advice for a beginner

Naish in Oz allow you to build a foil to suit yourself. We have a few guys who have learnt on the 70 mast, abracadabra mount, medium surf wing and KS stab. Some have tried the current KS wing but prefer the stability of the medium surf which is 1000 sq cm. Personally I use the medium surf on a 90 ma...

Liquid Force surf strap, very simple and light. No on water adjustment but not really needed. Set of 3 is about usd$70

Re: Speed 5 vs. Soul

I’m 80 kg and my minimum is 6 knots on a surf wing with my 12 Soul. But a race wing is better in these conditions but you need a bigger board.

Re: Single strut kite turning

Thanks Tomtom, confirms my suspicions. Probably only noticeable in the higher wind ranges when the kite is loaded more, not what single struts are designed for. I know they turn just fine in the light stuff. As for BRM clouds, unavailable in Oz so no point, and if they were they would be the most ex...

Single strut kite turning

I have been using single strut kites on foils for awhile, love em, but the last two days I have tried my 9 Ultra on my surfboard. I noticed turns seem slower than a standard 3 strut wave kite, my timing during downloops was off with transitions and on the wave. Watching the kite when redirecting har...

Re: Flysurfer Soul

Built the FDS kit myself, it is just a bridle with 3 attachment points and an extra line. I know Pansh supplies them with their kites, surprising FS doesn’t supply or at least have them as a spare part considering they were fitted as standard no too long ago.

Re: Flysurfer Soul

I know it’s old school but I have a 5th on my Soul, just for self landing. In lighter winds I just backstall then walk up the lines. If stronger I might backstall then hit the safety, kite folds in half and lays there. If it is too strong to backstall I put the kite overhead, hit the safety, the kit...
