Re: New Pansh vs used Ozone / Flysurfer

Is Pansh owned by Flysurfer? Allowing people an easy stepping stone into foil kites, great marketing ploy if they are.

Re: Flotation

There are some fairly good looking and not too bulky PFD’s available, I use one designed for sailing crews on skiffs/cats. It has a large pocket that has a cheap waterproof phone and mesh bag for pack down. I only use the jacket when using foil kites offshore or when swell riding. The phone is handy...

Re: New Pansh vs used Ozone / Flysurfer

I think whichever way you go it will be cost neutral, pay more for the Ozone or Flysurfer but with much higher resale value. Pansh are ok kites but due to their low initial cost have virtually no resale value.

Re: The reason to wing. Can't do this with a kite

Problem with wings is that Surfing at higher winds (25Kts +) and straight onshore is not possible to let go the wing behind you - wind will be pushed by the wing Always to your back. ... Thanks kit3surfer, maybe that is why at our local the wings aren’t coming out to where we play. We have a good s...

Flysurfer Race kite permeability

There are plenty of race kites available on the secondhand market, Flysurfer Race, VMG and Ozone R1’s. Most are heavily discounted from new price. I understand it is best not to get these wet, taking on water much quicker than say a Sonic 2 or Soul. I was wondering what the reason for this is, as th...

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

Secondhand Peak 4’s do exist, there is a 4 and a 5 mtr here in Oz on seabreeze. I own the 4, but have moved to Clouds due to relaunch issues.

Re: Little kite range

Love my 4 mtr single strut, usable on a 1200 surf wing from 15-26 knots (haven’t had the chance to use in stronger). Just brilliant for swell riding in our bay, drifts really well. I do own the 4 mtr Peak but only use it in close due to relaunch issues, I’ve had a few swims. Had a 3 strut 5 mtr (Reo...

Re: Fastest turning foil kites

I find big wing become boring fairly quickly in light wind, they don’t crank upwind or glide like the small fast wings. I have several wings to choose from but tend to use the fast wing in the light stuff, though the 1200 is great in waves and swell. The Peaks are great on a surf wing, but don’t go ...

Re: Fastest turning foil kites

I’m 80 kgs and the Soul is fairly new. I’m not keen on a kite look as it just drags you downwind, I do loop when using my smaller kites on a surf foil. Tried Pansh kites, like stepping back to Speed 2 days, a very basic bridle design and performance. I’m a bit of a Flysurfer fan, still can’t underst...
