Re: Best kite for hydrofoil?

You guys should try a small Ocean Rodeo Aluula Roam. I've had a 5m Aluula Roam for several months now - does everything just as well as my previous favorite surf-sized hydrofoiling kites ( BRM Cloud E's ) and covers a wider wind rage ( easily covers the range of the 3.7, 4.8, & 6.2m Cloud E's ). Ne...

Re: Best kite for hydrofoil?

Loved my Peak, but our location, a rocky shoreline, didn’t suit the occasional swim in. So I found I stopped trying new things, just being cautious to avoid the swim if I screw something up. It’s easy to loose track of the kite during a bungled tack and as they turn so quick can be in the water in a...

Re: Post-truth politics & ram air kites

We have a local big air contest run locally each year, this year will be it’s 3rd year. There is talk of banning foil kites, they have won both previous years and the LEI users aren’t happy. Entry numbers are not what they were this year as LEI riders ask themselves why bother. We aren’t in a place ...

PVC Hook is looking better. I like the idea of a bungee anchor line. I would also bury the anchor just so you don't catch the bridles/lines before the PVC hook Thanks for posting! Yes. The sand bag is buried. That is the kite bag with packing straps inside, that I hook onto the anchor just so it wo...

Re: Foil Kite Lifespan and Wind Range

Thanks Breze and tomW. Very helpful. Breze your breakdown helped me a lot! After a long call with Flysurfer, I decided to get an 11m Sonic 3 based on Brezes and Flysurfers recommendation. I recognise it's a technical kite that has its downsides, but I feel like I can learn and adapt in due time if ...

Re: Taxes for importing kites into the UK from a non EU country.

Just received my kite, stuck at Frankfurt airport for 4 weeks waiting for a flight to Australia. With Christmas and Covid coming, freight will probably stop moving altogether.

Re: Problem Inflating and Deflating Ozone Wasp

Yes it’s a problem, well not a problem just something to live with. I too have the 5mtr Wasp, for inflations get a bigger pump, the wing has a lot of volume so needs a big pump. For deflation try rolling the strut first from the tip, that way you can reach the hose and wiggle it if it gets kinked. L...
