Re: Peak 4 in rain?

I had one rainy session with the 5 m² Peak. Not different to dry conditions, I´d say. As Janus said, the 3 m² Peak will not handle 30+ kts I guess. I had my 4 m² Peak out in 16-20 kts and the 20 kts was the upper wind limit (comfortably). I don´t have the 3 m² Peak, but I guess it will go up to may...

Re: GPS watch for Kiteboarding

I use the Fenix, 10atm rather than 5atm of the other Garmin watches. There is a lot of force put on the watch in crashes hence the 10atm being preferred. Use a webbing strap, not the plastic one, they break with no warning. Fenix suffer from corrosion on the charge points which eventually stops the ...

Re: Duotone Introduces The Capa - Freeride Foil Kite

Click bar throw is largest in class I believe 60cm at least so throw would be least concerns, what throw Capa needs, longer than the humans arm, come on… That's not what Juan means. The bar 'depower' throw (like sheeting with a Windsurfer) is large with a Clickbar... The trim throw (normally called...

Re: I ordered Zeeko Bullet with Carver 950 without to have any experience with hydrofoiling

Have a great trip, don’t fall into the trap of trying to learn foiling just in the light stuff. Learning to foil in stronger winds is easier, the kite is higher and lifting you rather than you having to dive the kite dead and the kite pulling you sideways. The carver wing is a good size for learning...

Re: Choosing a foil kite

Thanks this is very useful information. I too might get the smaller kite race wing, but atm I am happy with this w800. Also thin profile. Do you know what would be too much wind for you when using the lw foil + 10 soul? Just thinking about the wind range of 12 soul. If it covers from 6/7 knots to 1...

Re: Choosing a foil kite

Thanks for good tips. I don't know how foilkites work yet, but if its the same that kite speeds up when bar is pushed out, then yes I understand. Even LEI's need to be depowered in super light wind to keep the speed in the kite. Yeah its a debate on the size. But I am mainly looking for a good ligh...

Re: Choosing a foil kite

I have the Soul and the Sonic, stay away from the Sonic if your new to foil kites. It’s a brilliant kite but you need some time on a medium aspect kite to learn how to fly them. One phrase I often say to prospective foil kite users is that pushing the bar out gives more power, screws with their min...
