Re: Pump vs foilboard

I don't know if it's a new category. Kite foilers have been on micro boards for many years already. But it has been interesting to see companies make "pump" foil boards and market them as only that. I don't see why they wouldn't also call them kite foil boards unless they think that decreases their...

Re: The future of foiling

I have an 1:15 min drive to get to the surf, or a 1 minute drive to get to our bay conditions with windswell. Foildrive has relegated my kitefoil gear to gathering dust, the swell riding with nothing in you hands is brilliant. It’s a cross between downwind and surfing without the logistics required...

Re: The future of foiling

Do you find that lenght cable best for you? If you get longer cable can you move the motor up and down a little bit? I’m still using the Plus system so can put my pod anywhere on the mast. The Plus works for me as I’m using a very small board which is fully submerged before I get going, by placing ...

Re: The future of foiling

It’s a cross between downwind and surfing without the logistics required for downwind, wave requirements for surf or a dock for pump. How much resistance does the motor part create when it hits the water surface, can it throw you if you are not careful or does it just dive in? Can you change how fa...

I never fold my wings, not even the Unit with two rigid handles
Rolled up like windsurf sails and that's it :D

Need an option for a long bag, definitely wouldn’t bother removing the boom each use.

Re: Reward: Lost 13m Ozone Chrono, Miami FL

A foil kite will sink once any air leaks out. I’ve used Peaks and if you don’t relaunch them quick they are below the surface.
Could be that only the bar floats are on the surface now, and the weight of the kite might pull them under too.

Re: Windrange on foil - what kite to get?

You mean the LE collapses under load? Cant see how this would ever be connected to strutless or how many struts.... BUT, if one strut the design is often light, meaning the LE could be less stiff, and maybe even thinner which makes it much worse in terms of stiffness - but it will perform a lot bet...

Re: Which is the durability of a carbon foil?

Would corrosion be a problem with aluminium in fresh water? You still have possible corrosion between the stainless screws and alloy parts, but nowhere near the problem when used in salt water. Tef gel should solve any issues long term. Axis use alloy fuselages, they looked at carbon but the result...
