Re: Snapped Insert bolt, how to get the bloody thing out!!!!

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploads15/P10100821248722189.jpg I'm not sure if it's still salvageable but if it is I'd suggest one of these snapon easy outs. I deal with a lot of really stubborn stripped screws in aviation and these extractors are amazing. The key is the right size easy out with t...

Re: What to replace the 2006 Misfit with?

Hey Alex, It's Marshall from the cuba trip. So you've decided to retire the old slingy? Well I'm not sure if you've ever dealt with them but I have ordered 2 Slingshot boards among other things from kiteboarding.com and they are great. Good prices and reasonable shipping to Canada. http://kiteboardi...

Re: Coche Island, Punta blanca Ocean Club: how is it?

I was at Coche kiting the first week in January 08, 09. We stayed at the Ocean Club the second time. It was not 5 star but OK. Your partner can play in the pool and sun tan, read, while you kite your brains out 30 m from the hotel. No one was sick from the food but I would still get the antidiarhea...

Re: Coche Island, Punta blanca Ocean Club: how is it?

Normally it is not too crowded, I'd say 15-20 riders on average. Apparently the week before I was there there was a group of 40 or so people so it was a bit crowded with them on top of the normal amount.

Re: Coche Island, Punta blanca Ocean Club: how is it?

A friend and I stayed at Punta Blanca Ocean Club in Coche for a week in February 2010. We both loved it and for me it was the best trip of my life (and first kite trip). The resort: We had low expectations before going but were pleasantly surprised. We found the food was decent, service was good, bu...

I voted yesterday but didn't post, #222 I think.

Bump for a fellow Canadian Kiteboarder, nice video!

Re: LF bar with Best Waroo?

What year is the Waroo?

08+ it should be fine. IIRC the older Waroo bars came calibrated with back lines 5-7cm longer than fronts. You can account for this by going one or two knots away from the kite.

Most Bars nowadays, including 2010 best bars, have front and back lines equal.

Re: Fixing inversion on the water... smart or stupid?

I would pull in some rope to depower (if possible), unhook from CL and pass th bar through the lines. I would not climb through the lines (human sushi?). Then I would clip in to CL again and making sure the leash was in a good position with some slack, unhook the leash and unwind it from the bar, t...

Re: correct launching

Reminds me of an experience I had a few weeks ago, I was asked to assist someone to launch. I agreed and picked the kite up in U position and we started to walk towards the water to launch, but as we walked to pilot kept trying to tension the lines, I told him to give me some slack but he obviously ...
