Re: Ram Airs Crash in 2003

I got to give pumpy kudos for consistently piss-taking and trolling the same joke for 15 years. That is a commitment to the heckle!

Re: Smallest possible LEI kite size for best low end

I guess the answer is going to be demo demo demo. Also how underpowered do you like to be? I know i can ride my 8m down to 9-10 knots. But i'm bored sub 13 knots on that kite so I yearn for a bigger kite to be more powered. Personally, i really like my 12m chrono for sub 13 knot stuff. I like to be ...

Re: Large Kite that will relaunch

12 knots is easy to relaunch, 8 knots.... not so much.

I second the thought of a foil kite in those winds. They hang in the air longer at 8 knots.

Re: Kiter killed in New Zealand

plummet, agree with everything except the last sentence. The redirect only works well on water where you land with the board pointed downwind and with some speed. Speed is not what you want landing on land, instead, having let the bar out to reduce lift, as you come down, at the last moment, about ...

Re: Kiter killed in New Zealand

A sad day indeed. My heart goes out to the family and friends. https://www.sunlive.co.nz/news/197982-kite-surfer-dies-tauranga.html?fbclid=IwAR09XDkyrykytX969h1ygRBvpLv2Ua-Flar7TWQ1Fe0tGt8DIyrILRTc3fs These accidents always follow a similar trend. Kiter selects a kite that is too big for the conditi...

Re: Predictions for Ram Airs in 2019

My predictions for 2019 is that dudes will be sitting on the beach waiting for wind to blow enough for their lei's while I'm powered to all hell, trimmed and ripping up a storm on my foil/foil combo.

Re: Fast wave hydrofoiling.

Plummet, wish I had the time to make wings. Ive been experimenting with 3D printer at work, thinking of getting a creality cr10s5 with 500*500*500 build volume. But experiments telling me that it's better to get a cnc. How about getting a mast and fuselage, then just making wings you can screw on a...

Re: Fast wave hydrofoiling.

heh, interesting indeed, the adventure continues. In the gear exploration phase, I find that borrowing/demo doesn't work very well, as you can't learn the in's and out's of the gear in one or two tries. For me at least, I don't really know how something works until I've got comfortable with it, the...
