Re: Wow - what an inspiration

Well I'm stumped how she pulled off the one footer. She definitely went out on a limb to do that trick.

Re: Leg burn

When i was getting back leg burn my foil was too far back. Move the foil forward. Also a winder stance helps too. Front foot forward and back foot right back.

Re: Foil vs LEI: how does the riding differ

Ok, It appears we have a different opinion on what slack and drift is. Plus i'll clarify my position oh why lei's are better. Drift to me is a controllable float downwind while you ride the wave or swell. The kite sits there without imput floating backwards down wind. Yes the lines are slack ish but...

Re: Foil vs LEI: how does the riding differ

I think the minimum drag producing the most depower is maybe worse on a foil but the lift to drag is certainly better otherwise they wouldn't win races. Main reason for slow turning is Air weight giving high inertia and the way the wing distorts when steered. Foils tend to distort to a more efficie...

Re: High Winds - Old School

Yeah wing surfing jumps are gak. They can land any descent boost. Its a hard crash landing every time.
Solid skills in the waves though!

Re: Foil vs LEI: how does the riding differ

Many good points above. Foils kites do turn slower size for size. It's the parasitic drag from the bridles. They are not as good in stupid gusty conditions. They also have more entrained power that is less difficult to shut off than an lei. The big deal breaker for me for hydroiling is that a foil k...

Re: Plywood surf foil wing

Good effort. I wonder if you tapered the tips more like stringy if you would end up with less drag, a little more top speed but still with the ability to go slow and feel the wave power?

Re: Sometimes I wish I knew my speed

I like the idea of a watch instead of a phone. I'm looking at the forerunner 35.

Anybody got any feedback on these?
