Re: Gear Insurance- USA

Your comprehensive car insurance would normally cover theft of property from the car. Check with your agent. Tell them sports equipment - a good set of golf clubs would add up to more than kite gear. A good bike is worth more. Don’t confuse them with kites, use golf in your questions. If they’re be...

Re: What’s the best board you have ever tried?

Love my Shinn King Gee for those light wind days and my Brokite Hybrid - Custom made for me. Tried quite a few boards but these excel in both their disciplines.

Re: Help needed: XR5 and carbon drive Beginner

Carbon boards are far more forgiving on the ankles. When I was in a quandary trying to decide on board size and width for my weight, conditions, riding style etc.. I got in touch with West of http://brokite.com/ explained everything and he recommended a board and laid up the carbon on it to my requi...

Re: Help needed: XR5 and carbon drive Beginner

I'd say if the wind is more often on the lower range then the 12m would be perfect, but definitely get a smaller board to compensate for the size of the kite and the LF Carbon Drive 139x41 might be a good compromise over the 136.

Re: below the bar trim

The above the bar I use on my smaller kites and the below the bar on my larger kites as I can get more trim on it. Both function pretty much the same in that your better off being de-powered to trim the kite....

Re: Newbie needs advice...

Dude, welcome to the amazing world of kiteboarding, it will take over your life !! As Bille said, buy a kite that you will use most in the area that you're going to kite in based on your weight and average wind conditions. If your in lighter winds you might want a 12m and a bigger board, but talk to...

Re: Blowing 11mph Gusting 30mph

Update: So it turned out is was averaging 25mph, gusting 34mph and lulls of 17mph, much more realistic than forecast. I'm 200lb, used my 8m SS Rally and small TT and it was absolutely perfect.
