Re: 1 shark 2 shark 3 shark... they are hungry

It was my cousin Tony who was attacked probably by a tiger shark. He is a kitesurfer who was swimming that day. He is out life danger and in good spirits. However, doctors could not save his right foot. Here is his account: The shark grabbed my legs and pulled me down. I was hitting it in the nose, ...

Re: labeling your gear

I don't recommend using Sharpie, the ink disappears after some years. Use another brand.
I use a floor marking tape that is made to be glued to the floor (so it is made to resist water). I tape my boards and write info with a marker. I also write my name in hidden places.

Re: Venezuela experience

Everything was very inexpensive specially compared to Brazilian prices. It mostly depends on what exchange rate you are able to get in the black market. I actually don't know prices we paid because it was all bundled in a package, You can just contact Cesar at Play Los Roques and he can give you a g...

Re: Venezuela experience

I went to Los Roques with 25 friends from Brazil. Our experience was similar to Vacaloca's. Trip was organized by Frid (Kitepoint Sao Seba in facebook) There was a limit of 10kg per person for the small plane from Caracas to Los Roques, so we had to rent a plane to carry gear (not a big deal if you ...

Re: problems with the fifth line

North issued a fix for this problem. At the ring, the line gets thicker and because of this thickness the 5th line gets stuck in the whole. The fix is to tie a knot right after this thickness so that it doesn't go into the whole and the bar can freely ride up the 5th line. Please check North's websi...

Re: North Whip, Naish Fish, Airush Choptop, North Freestyle

I suggest you try something in the North 2012 line. They made them lighter and more flexible to handle chop.

Re: Airline Baggage Weight Experience - pls add yours

TAM (Brazil) for national travelers 23kg per person. For international it is more. TAM only weights the luggage, they don't have any policy regarding number of bags, shape, size and/or content. I made a big bag and packed 1 flydoor, 1 north select, 3 kites and bars (sizes 12, 14 and 18). Packed the ...

Re: GoPro Fogging - annoying!

Toby, assuming the GoPro case is water tight (otherwise water will enter and destroy the camera), then the humidity is already there when you closed the case. Solutions for this have already been suggested above. For water drops in the lens (outside), use Rain-X (sold in car parts stores in the US)....

Re: Snapped Insert bolt, how to get the bloody thing out!!!!

All good suggestions above.

I would take a close look at the threads to check that they are aligned and free of dents. A dent in a thread can make it much harder for a screw or bolt to turn.

Good luck!!
