Re: Why does nobody make narrow boards anymore?

These boards are for proper kiting wind though, not most of what is discussed here these days about how many thousands of dollars you should spend to ride in lame conditions to get 2 knots more performance out if your kit in 12 knots! :-0 laugh. Remember, there are a lot of learners around that are...

Re: Why does nobody make narrow boards anymore?

I know a bunch of riders that still still ride narrower boards. As long as they have stability in their design...length/ shape concave.. They are simply faster. Imo today most kiters ride very slowly compared to 10/ 15 year ago. Kind of sluggish.. I am a big fan of kiters that rip around at high spe...

Re: jelly fish punture mediterranean

To me it is very unusual to get symptoms 5-6 days later, other than infections from punctures in the skin. Usually jelly fish stings hurt pretty quickly, the venom then moves to your lymph nodes to clear the toxin ou TV of your body, usually in your groin within 20min/ an hour or 2, that can hurt ev...

Re: which is the best upwind bodydrag technique to recover the board?

Why would you do shorter? I can see the point in terms of not losing sight of the board, but wouldn't you lose some height every time you turn? I agree completely on the bury your body. And stretch. I tend to swim when I am just there, but I'm honestly wondering if that is counter-productive - and ...

Re: which is the best upwind bodydrag technique to recover the board?

You dont have to be able to go upwind body dragging.. just go downwind slower that your board! Shorter zig zags in line to where you think your board is. Bury your whole body/ head with arm outstretched and kite super low to the water. You will get to a stage where u hardly ever need to do this.. In...

Twin Fin kiting

I have been surfing a twin fin a lot recently and it occurred to me that I have never once kited one... (always seemed to precious to introduce monster heal dents in them) Has anyone? A small twiny would make complete sense for kiting in more mush/smaller waves... simply less drag both and fin and u...

Re: What is the lowest wind you can kite in?

It is true. Every extra knot of low end under 10-12kts adds probably $1000 to your quiver when moving into foils and foil kites. But some places you need this if you want to get out often. If you can’t afford it then just go biking or something. Stick to 10kts+, leave under ten knots to the rich ol...
