Re: Wind/Weather & Forecasting

Thanks Rickl, I am in the carribean sea, island of Jamaica, I haven't seen detail like that for the island. I have been to many of the sites (plus others) that the info is sourced from (mainly to anticipate storm watches), such as underground weather, NOAA, crown weather, midatlantic weather station...

Re: Western Australia trip

Correct Caesar, inland will be in excess of 40'C, Exmouth will only be in excess of 35'C.

Re: New way to wax your surfboard for kiting.

Hot water poured on the deck in conjunction with a wax comb works very well to remove wax also.

Re: Wind/Weather & Forecasting

Yeah .... Really I find it easy to navigate the wind... websites, and think the 3 hour forecasts with wind direction, speed, temps, wave heights etc is just brilliant and the best basic info needed when I hit the beach. I have never seen a local forecast that provides this amount of detail and would...

Re: Western Australia trip

Feb is one of the hottest months of the year in WA, I would think twice about heading up North in Feb, in excess of 40 celsius is not uncommon. Esperance was a great suggestion, some of the most beautiful beaches you will ever see.

Re: Surfboard, pointy or rounded?

Nose Guard is one such company that makes rubber tips for pointed nose surfboards.
My personal view is that you wouldn't notice much if any difference riding a rounded nose verse a pointed nose (your talking about maybe 1/2 inch at the tip of the board)

Re: Wind/Weather & Forecasting

I have found the site "www.windfinder.com" to have very detailed historical and forecasted wind data, charts and maps.

Re: Very Strange weather pattern! Anywhere else?

The wind is generated by the sun, so maybe it does come back to global warming. I guess some global meteorological service could say with some degree of accuracy if there is equilibrium with wind around the earth. It was an el nino year for sure. extremely dry year in the western caribbean, driest i...

Re: Australia advaice needed!

WA is a big state, going north can take days by vehicle. Nov/Dec in Exmouth would also be extremely hot, I wouldn't venture any further North than Geraldton that time of year. You will definetly get consistent SW winds from Margaret River all the way up to Gero. In general it will be flatter the fur...

Re: Kitesurfing Jamiaca man Info anyone?

Negril is on the West coast and not really close to Bounty Bay, which is just outside (to the East) of Falmouth. Breezes Trelawny (formerly starfish resort) is on the same beach as Bounty Bay, where you will find several kiters on a daily basis. June is just coming out of the consistent windy period...
