Re: A beginners experience

Do I think that your idea of researching obsessively instead of taking lessons is foolish? yes I had same attitude towards not taking lessons when I learned how to snowboard. My arrogance cost me a lot of wasted sessions and a minor injury. So when it came time to learn how to Kitesurf, I took lesso...

Re: The best kite for Teaching?

The best place to start people is on the snow (ideally with skis if they know how to ski already). In that situation, the Peak 4 is the best kite for teaching on snow. The snow is a good primer because one can learn good kite control skills which are essential when learning the water start.

Re: I'm less addicted, kiting less and now i'm a better person because of it.

Plummet, I kite less than I used to, I am not sure if that makes me a better person. Perhaps, a more balanced and happy person. I think more about the needs and desires of those around me instead of my next kite fix. I think the best thing about kiting less is that when I kite, I enjoy it more. I fe...

Re: 2 kite Flysurfer Soul Quiver for TT

I would buy the 9 or 10 if you like better landing in high winds. You have to be super juiced on the 8 to get soft landing like you get on the 10. I think the 10 bridges the gap better with the 15. You will have and obvious hole in the 20 -25 knot range. Sure you can fly the 15 in 20 knots, but at y...

Re: FS Soul 18 vs 21 sqm?

I weigh 85 kg. I have the Soul 21 and 18. First of all, let’s talk range. I frequently fly the 21 in 20 mph winds. I am not saying that I would launch a 21 in wind that strong, but when it picks up, I don’t find myself racing to the shore. I end up flying the 21 much more often than the 18. The reas...

Re: Every Major Brand Announcing an Aluula Kite in 2020!

If you don’t want to spend big bucks on kites, don’t. There will be inexpensive, direct to consumer kites. It is not like an expensive kite increases the prices of all other kites. I just don’t follow your logic

Re: Hydrofoiling in 10 knots - Is it that hard?

You know what, you have a 21mt soul, you can ride no problem above 6 knots :thumb: I wasn’t planning on foiling with the 21 anytime soon. I have Souls from 21 to 6 in every size and a 5m FS Peak 4 and a 1500 wing, so I have the gear side covered. However, this post is not about me. I know I am not ...

Hydrofoiling in 10 knots - Is it that hard?

I have a 21m Soul and a big board, so I am often the only guy out with 15 or 20 hydrofoils and perhaps a couple guys on surfboards and larger kites. I have noticed at my home spot and when traveling that in 10 knot wind many of the hydrofoil riders are struggling. I would estimate that only 15 to 20...
