Re: Hand screw connecting mast to board

Related: Could someone here PLEASE share their solution for the Moses T-38 four bolt + weird nut Italian concept? Several times I've been on a fine sand blowing beach with all these parts, with the threads coated in lithium, and trying to have an extra set of required hands. Sucks. Edit: This is th...

Micronesia wind conditions anyone?

Considering a trip in April and have the opportunity to go to Pohnpei. I've searched all the usual sites trying to determine what to expect for wind but info is scant and shows mostly averages. Average does not really mean much cuz 16 knots for 4 hours every afternoon and light to calm the rest of t...

Re: tips for landing after a boat launch

If someone is on board, land the kite on the boat and swim to the back of the boat. Wind your lines once on board.

Re: Minor repairs to carbon wing

Foil: interesting to hear that you are "matting down" (new verb alert) your Moses foils. My first carbon foil was a Zeeko Carbon that came with Matt finish. About that same time, I purchased a high end orbital polisher and was looking for things to polish. With a little polishing Rouge the Zeeko cam...

Re: Zeeko Spitfire Hydrofoil

Interesting answer gbrunga. And, very insightful into the psychology of foilers! Your last comment touches on the one issue I have with the Spitfire. Weight. And, it is one of the reasons I want to know where the existing Spitfire foilers are. I am exploring possibilities to get a lighter setup for ...

Re: Zeeko Spitfire Hydrofoil

Hello Spitfire pilots. I ride Spitfire. I enjoy the flight characteristics and appreciate the safety aspects. I am wondering why I don't see many others at the beaches I kite at: Hawaii and West coast USA. Are they just extremely rare or are there concentrations of Spitfire Foilers in other parts of...

Re: Do I need to do lock stitching on a brummel splice??

Good that you are getting it right. At first it can be confusing getting the Brummel right especially when the other end of the rope is unavailable. Like Opie said, be sure the bury is long enough. 72 times diameter seems to be recommended. Overkill? Maybe. I made a pigtail with about 10 x bury and ...

Re: Do I need to do lock stitching on a brummel splice??

Okay, I do Brummel splices on sheeting lines, pigtails and kitlines. No stiches and no problems. If I was going to stitch I certainly would not waste the effort doing a Brummel splice. If you are wearing suspenders, why n other with a belt. I think the Brummel is actually, miniscually weaker than a ...

Re: Zeeko Spitfire Hydrofoil

Team Spitfire, there has been mention in this thread of plugging the mast to prevent it filling with water. I am sure that you all experience it but I have not yet read of any experiences from anyone who has plugged. It seems to me that some Sikaflex or Simson would be effective in keeping the water...
