Siete, The wind range of the 10m isn't hyped. That kite has a strong low end. Don't laugh, but my quiver is a 15m Hypertype, a 10m R7 and a 9M Rebel. Only one meter in size difference but these kites a pretty different in range. I ride the R7 10m from 14 mphs to 30. The rebel really only for wave ri...

O7' North bar depower rope

My O7' North bar depower rope has worn enough to need replacement. I heard this isn't as bad on the 08'. Anyway i bought the North replacement with the thick and thin depower lines. I understand about changing the depower rope at the Iron Heart. What i don't get is how to open the depower cleat to g...

Jeff, Some may call bullshit but the North Rhino7 10m can cover that whole range with just one kite. 12 knots is 13 mphs right. The low end is on a surfboard or big twin tip and high is powered. I've been out recently with guys on the last of the 20m C-kites and going upwind (not powered) right next...

Can't compare to the Nobile, but the 138 is fast. Has some rocker so i doubt its the fastest. I do remember some powered days when i was going as fast as ever on that board. Second the comment about chop and junk conditions. The board is the smoothest i've ridden in storm conditions.

Thanks so much for all the replies. This forum's great for this kind of thing. Ended up having to add 6" pigtails extensions for the stock RRD bar. After that the kite flew perfect. May end up getting the Best bar anyway as it looks like a better bar in general. Kite seems to turn as fast any light ...

Thanks for the responses. CTpedro, How long of pigtails did you add to the back line attachment? Did you do this too with the stock RRD bar? Wetstuff, I hope it does work in a bit less wind. Its sounds like its technical and finicky in lite winds. Not the first kite i've had lately. All of them have...

Hypertype 15 bar issues

Just got a used Hypertype 15 with the RRD bar and lines. The kite looks great but the bar only so-so. Had to change out the chicken loop and the throw may have changed (whats the sheeting range distance supposed to be). Test flew the kite in 9-11 mphs with all lines equal and it was way oversheeted....

Wetstuff, Are you saying you don't self launch the Hypertype any more? How did you try it? Ever do the sanded tip? ust got a Hyper 15 and want to figure it out. Not into "ghost launching" and have never done the chicken loop thing. I have done the sanded tip on Rebels and Rhinos with success. I miss...
North kites have always been more powerful than a lot of brands because it has always been Ken Winner's philosophy to get the most power possible from each kite. The design goal for the R7 10m was to match 14m C kite power. They did match some 14s on the market.
He did achiev...
