Hybrid Kite lines

Born by the demand of big air riders and racers to have their lines last longer I have developed a line made out multiple sections combining different line types to have the best of both worlds. Sk99 for the main length of the lines and replaceable sections out sk76 for the part where the back lines...

Re: Ad blocker message

It doesn't detect the Ublock origin adblocker on Firefox, tested on both windows and android. Better to host your own ads as images that don't get blocked without tracking or run a campaign to get whitelisted rather than trying to fend off ad blocking software and alienate your users like is happeni...

Re: Do we need horns on the bars?

Riding in the drop zone on a spot filled with big air riders on a lit day and then trying to turn without looking upwind first makes you at least as guilty for the collision as the jumper.
Be aware of your surroundings at all times!

Re: Flare Moustache vs. foil kite

A lightweight friend convinced me to convert an 11m for him, that machine is totally insane! This is not possible on a moustache:

Re: solo landing a 5m foil kite

5fth attached to the middle bridle rows should be fine, single front line safety is also causing a lot of stress (the reason they don't use flagout when racing, better retrieve a loose flying kite by support boat than stretching it by flagging is the idea there) Best to self land a single skin or op...

Re: solo landing a 5m foil kite

There's no difference indeed, although pulling by hand doesn't immediately kill all the power unless you can reel in the line fast enough. Don't recommend doing it overpowered though, unless you can find a wind shadow to drop the kite into before flagging. Safest way to land solo in high winds witho...

Re: solo landing a 5m foil kite

Front line safety makes foil kites spin causing a tangled mess that can take a while to undo, so only use it when there are no other options left.

5fth line crumbles the wing without spinning or residual pull, making it much more convenient to relaunch after landing in high winds.

Re: High Pressure kite by Bruno Legaignoux

A thinner, flatter profile will have less lift but not necessarily a better L/D ratio and the best ratio will be the fastest as you will need a smaller kite for the same power. Making it flatter does help, but impacts how well it turns and loops. Could be that you also need to bridle the trailing ed...

About 10 stitches near the loop, stronger than a lock splice.

Extra length is also to release the stress at the transition between splice and line from bending so the line doesn't degrade as fast on that point.

Re: Tech Cast #12 | Feat. The Line Smith | Episode # 341

It seems like they ask 85.- for 22m front lines, regardless if they are actually 22m or only 11.45 like it's the case with the upper front lines on a click bar. That's why you get a big difference in this cas as I calculate the price by a simple formula: €1.50/m sk99 425 or 550 line plus €3.- per sp...
