In the interview Ralph is claiming that the primary feature of Allula is not the lightness but its spring back capability. He says he can use this feature to make the kite more dynamic when springning back from deformation as in after a steering input. So it's not about creating a structure as stiff...
There's no difference indeed, although pulling by hand doesn't immediately kill all the power unless you can reel in the line fast enough. Don't recommend doing it overpowered though, unless you can find a wind shadow to drop the kite into before flagging. I still don't get it. On most low V bars o...
Front line safety makes foil kites spin causing a tangled mess that can take a while to undo, so only use it when there are no other options left. 5fth line crumbles the wing without spinning or residual pull, making it much more convenient to relaunch after landing in high winds. But they are talk...
:thumb: :bye: I doubt it will sit still on one frontline. You might be able to build yourself a 5th line for solo landing. Someone on lesfoilz asked about it for a 6m hawk: https://lesfoilz-com.translate.goog/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=6108&sid=607de24816d8c8cd37e202f4cec5e736&_x_tr_sl=auto&_x_tr_t...
Assuming you backstall the kite and have it sitting on its trailing edge? If your kite is lifting the trailing edge and catching wind under the kite it can do what you describe. Then you need more pressure on the front lines. Depending on your launch site it would be easier for you to stake the kite...
I can imagine pumpmeup rolling around laughing!
I can always get by with holding up the intakes for a bit, but how about trapping air in a simple 1-200 liters garbage bag and empty it through an intake hole? Wouldn't that be faster?
