Drilling and tapping aluminum fuselage

I've learned that just because aluminum is relatively soft, that doesn't make it easy to drill and tap holes. In fact, its softness has its own hazards. I managed to break a tap. What is happening is the soft aluminum shavings are getting stuck in the flutes of the tap, clogging it up. If the resist...

Re: Covering screw inserts

My problem is that I'm covering the board with carbon. How do I find the holes to drill them out if I just fill with wax?

I've tried jewelry beads, or plastic screws. The results leave a big mess to grind away.

Covering screw inserts

How do you properly protect your screw inserts on the board before applying a layer of fiberglass or carbon cloth? Every solution tot his problem I have used so far has come out pretty messy.

Re: Sweat shop kite manufacturing

Okay, call it what you want. Socialism/Social welfare programs that are baseline necessities for the decency of all citizens (healthcare, education, elderly care) are available in the countries I named. These social welfare programs are typically associated to "socialist" countries. https://www.nyt...

Re: Sweat shop kite manufacturing

That's a classic Fox News generalization. Maduro calls Venezuela socialist just like Kim Jong Un calls North Korea a democratic republic. A real socialist country to examine are ones like Canada, France, Finland, Norway, Sweden, etc. If one thinks that all socialism is equal to that of Venezuela, t...

Re: Sweat shop kite manufacturing

Sideline screaming is easy but when capitalists f'***ed it up really bad it was pure socialism they (USA) resorted. When capitalism wants to privatize profits but to socialize losses it is in its purest form because real capitalism only cares for capitalists and their capital. Your conception of ca...

Re: Sweat shop kite manufacturing

Its funny how every civilization on Earth engaged in conquest, slavery, genocide, and colonization, yet we didn't get capitalism until we got people like John Locke and Adam Smith saying that those are bad things and we should stop doing them.

Re: Sweat shop kite manufacturing

The US didn't HAVE to rescue the banks. In fact, advocates of capitalism believe in something called "creative destruction". To believe and to do is two different things. Advocates of capitalism were socialist after all :) It wasn't that advocates of capitalism that did it. We were on the sidelines...

Re: Sweat shop kite manufacturing

Well, USA used socialism when banks had to be rescued last time.. It worked very well for the billionaires, why couldn't it work with normal people if it is tried really hard? The US didn't HAVE to rescue the banks. In fact, advocates of capitalism believe in something called "creative destruction"...

Re: Sweat shop kite manufacturing

People choose to work in these "sweat shops". In these relatively poor countries, they are the best jobs available. As libertarians are saying these days, you don't make people better off by looking at all of the options they have, and taking away the ones that they actually choose. For many of them...
