Re: Kite-o-rado Snowkite Conditions

Coverage is good at Hoosier - foot or so of base. Clean riding.
Loveland, not as good. Just looked at my board - a few core shots. Won't hit that again til more snow.

We're also getting a little early season kiting in Summit County. Saturday above Hoosier Pass. Sunday above Loveland Pass.

Re: Don't buy a Core kite before you read this!

Yes, I've also just spent the last hour or so reading through this entire thread. Looks like it's about to end, but thought I would add my own thoughts on CORE, since I've been using their kites for about 8 years now. Started with the original GT, upgrading each model to a current quiver the latest ...

Re: harness came undone

edt, I'll give you that your scenario could possibly happen. Of course, if we use our imaginations I'll bet we could find a fault with absolutely any safety system, for example, helmets, seatbelts, airbags, ski brakes, etc. (That could be an interesting topic in itself). I suppose I should make sure...

Re: harness came undone

I used to have the problem of the bar ends bending out also. Simple solution was to put a cheap small carabiner (meant for key chains, etc) through it. There is no force directed at the carabiner. It just takes up space and prevents the bar from coming unhooked. When I say cheap, I mean DON'T attach...

Re: Kite-o-rado Snowkite Conditions

Just a heads up - The Dillon Reservoir (Summit County) froze over this morning :D
No snow predicted this week, so as usual, the ice boaters can have their week of testing the ice for us :thumb:

Re: How long does your bar/lines last?

deniska, Have you checked for mice?

I've been using Core bars for about 6 years now. I try to update about every 2 years. NEVER have had any issues. My current bar, the Sensor, has probably 200 sessions on it.

Sorry this keeps happening to you though. It's gotta be frustrating.

Re: Kite-o-rado Snowkite Conditions

Nate, thanks for the video of Hoosier Pass. I haven't been up there yet this year. Looks like there's still plenty of snow. Other conditions here in Summit County, we've seen our last days on Lake Dillon. Also hiked up to Loveland Pass on Sunday. Pretty thin and wind scoured - not much coverage. I d...
