Re: Weather models for kite apps

I forgot...since you’re in the midatlantic, pay attention to Shea Gibson’s forecasts on ikite. You can learn a ton from him.

Re: Weather models for kite apps

IKite wf-wrf 2km -> thermals, SW wind Ikite NAM 12km -> everything else NOAA graphical forecast -> gusts Windy.com (euro model) -> storms In New England these four work great. I always look at the map version of those, then drive to place that maximizes the odds. Looking at each location individuall...

Re: What are best wetsuits for winter windy extreme conditions?

I have a good deal (-50%) on 2015 Xcel Infinity X2 6/5mm but before committing, should I pay double for 2017 some other highend wetsuit? I wonder if flashbomb style furry fluffy innerside is the way to go and worth the extra euros? Also, is there a big difference in warmth for 6mm suits between "so...

Re: Anyone try the 2018 Drifter

Thank you Mitaka for the in depth review. I’m asking about a specific size (7m) because I’ve noticed that when a new kite comes out some of the sizes seem really dialed and some sizes seem like they need some tuning. In the case of the 2014 Drifter I felt the 9m was amazing but the 7’s power deliver...

Can anyone compare the 7m to the 2017? I need to upgrade from my 2014.

Re: PSA Ride Engine Failure with Fireball

Thank you for the heads up! I ride the same setup. Was thinking about modifying the straps before hearing this. Now I have a little motivation. The cabrinha spreader bar comes with a pair of straps that have a thickened end. Was thinking about using them as bottom straps. Then I'd add buckles to the...

I too have 35" waist and wear wetsuits with the ride engine. Size L is perfect.

Re: Not having much fun Learning to Foil

I agree with Starsky too...short sessions...30 min...are fine. Also...just keep putting in the time...it'll start clicking...it just takes time...it's work, but it'll pay off. I almost sold my board in the beginning, and now I have almost 100 sessions and I'm still absolutely stoked after almost eve...
