Brazil - special resort for kiting couple

Hello, I've been to Brazil once with some buds for an epic 2 week downwinder and loved it. But I want to return with my kiting wife to celebrate a 30th anniversary in October. We both kite, foil and wing. Any recommendations for a couple nice resorts north of Fortaleza that would be a ideal as a bas...

Re: Foiling in shallow water

As long as you're well powered, no problem. While power stroking the kite, water start immediately in the ready position without getting pulled over the board- pop up from the side. Plus, too lazy to drag out.

Re: First wing board size: must it be weight + 40?

Follow up: Day 1- struggled with just staying on the board and getting to a standing position. 15 knots, 5.5 wing, 105L board on 2000 cm2 foil. Worn out after about an hour from just climbing back onto the board repeatedly Day 2- better able to balance/stand/cruise around off foil. 15 knts, 5.5 wing...

Re: First wing board size: must it be weight + 40?

Ok. Thanks for all the feedback. I'm going with the 105 liter iboard and see how it goes. I'll post a follow up after the trip. Cheers!

First wing board size: must it be weight + 40?

Hi all, I'm venturing into the wing thing next week and had a question. I've kited for 15 years, kite foiled for 5 years and now ready to try some winging. I was able to recently get my 5.0 wing out with a sup and had a fun time cruising around a lake- staying upwind easily at the end of the first h...

Re: Predict a Flurry of rotator cuff and related shoulder injuries associated with wing foiling

I'm a longtime kiter who had a chronic rotator cuff tendonitis flare-up after my first try at winging. I was trying the wing on a sup with low winds and totally tweaked my shoulder prone to rotator cuff overuse. I'm sure once you know what you're doing and in good wind it wouldn't have the same shou...

Re: Brazil Travel - airport/rapid covid testing availability

Thanks for the reply Toby. We are downwinding to Atins and returning to Fortaleza via Sao Luis airport. We need to find a rapid Antigen (American Airlines) test ideally at the Sao Luis airport or prior to our international flight out of Fortaleza. Are there testing sites at Sao Luis or Fortaleza air...

Brazil Travel - airport/rapid covid testing availability

I'm traveling to Brazil soon and flying in and out of Fortaleza from the US. Does anyone have any recent travel experience there with Covid testing prior to travel? Can you get rapid tests at the Fortaleza airport? How are travelers getting pre=flight covid tests done from Fortaleza or Sao Luis? I'm...

Re: F-one bandit vs Doutone Evo

I've flown them both a fair amount. Both great kites. The evo is more precise, controlled, drives more like a cadillac. The bandit definitely feels more lively, more responsive, drives more like a sports car. Both are easy to learn on. I'd be happy with either but prefer the bandit for the fun factor.
