Re: Shorten your alu-foil-mast DIY Clip

Hi, anyone can recommend a handtap m6 that can go deep enough? In the movie in this topic he modifies a “normal” tap, but I prefer to find one that is build for this purpose. I successfully shortened my mast from 95 to 75cm, but now I can only get my hands on handtaps that only go 20-25mm deep. I t...

Re: My experiences with some Gong foilwings

"My biggest dislike with Gong is front foil connection which induces play to the system." The Gong connection is very good on my titanium fuse and HM85 mast. I don't feel any play between front wing and fuse. True, this is not perfect nope... I add a piece of tape to make it "fit", friend of mine u...

Re: My experiences with some Gong foilwings

Sorry to waste your time - I meant 90 LITRE board! My friend just bought a 90 litre board with a 1250 sqcm foil to start on. This seems to me like it would be an extremely challenging, perhaps impossible point to start, even for someone with experience kite foiling. I'm looking at something like a ...

Re: Wingfoil is building faster than everything...

I have two identical wings, one brand new and hardly used, the other my every day wing wich is heavily bagged out but great fun to use in powered up conditions. I actually destroyed it in a shorebreak incident and used it to practice my repairing skills, that's why I'm still using it. I know this w...

Re: Wingfoil is building faster than everything...

I think exploring all performance improvements for wings is a good thing. Wings are starting from such a low base that any improvement is welcome. My only concern is that they're ignoring the elephant in the room. Wings are ridiculously fragile and vulnerable to damage and loss. There's barely a day...

Best Strategy when getting tumbled in waves

Curious for people’s opinions for the best strategy when getting (or about to get) tumbled in breaking surf. I see the biggest risk is injury from the foil (to either yourself or other water users or your wing). Assuming your leash arrangement allows you to eject board &/or wing. There are a few opt...

Re: Blood knot to join 2 pieces of Q-Power line?

I wasn’t really referring to classical shock loading. To use an example (with made up values) to explain: if the line fails after 5s @ 150kg load, it may survive 200kg for 1s. However, I guess the 200kg for 1s would have done some damage and thus used up some Life, so not something to rely on! I thi...
