Re: Wind strength Sri Lanka during summer?

In the Area Kandathoduwa - Norocholai - Kalpititya, we see typically 15 -25 knts. The wind blows every day from May to September, driven by the South Westerly Monsoon. Due to a local termic, the wind is stronger and more consistent in the early morning, or at sunset. (I'm typically on the water at a...

Re: true advice on Sri Lanka, a new Brazil?

I know the spots in Dutch Bay and Kalpitiya Lagoon. But I don't know if there is any good places for launch / landing kites in main Puttalam Lagoon.
In places, there are also quite a few sticks in the lagoon from shrimp farming. Can you help me here?

Re: Review: Storm Voyager V6 13m2

A couple of things that I forgot: Relaunch Due to the shape of the leading edge and the fact it has only 1 strut, relaunch is not as easy as with other kite. Make sure to inflate the kite to 8psi at least, this helps a bit. In very marginal wind, especially when there is current in the water, you wi...

Review: Storm Voyager V6 13m2

High Performance, demanding handling When I bought the Storm Voyager V13 last year, I couldn’t find any reviews of this kite. So after having used it in conditions from 10kts to 18kts and in chop up to waves of 7ft, I thought I’d share my experience with those who might be interested in this kite. ...

Re: Learning on monofoil

Summarizing the statements so far, I take away that most of you would recommend to start with a polyvalent, big enough foil, plus a small stabilizer.
And then later try and lose the stabi.

What are your recommendations of possible foil / stabi combinations out there?

Re: Learning on monofoil

I don't understand what you mean with "too much"? Are you talking area or what?? As such a wing will be easier, more stable, than a typical monofoil. No, I meant the foil looks rather "race" to my non-expert eye than other monos that look more similar to surf foils. So I was wondering if this mono ...

Re: Learning on monofoil

@Mede, you could also wait a bit for this promising design: 1380cm2, AR6, small reflex under the mast, 13% max chord to thickness ratio You can follow the development here Looks amazing :) My question here would be if this wing is not a bit too much of a handful for someone learning  Let's se...

Re: Learning on monofoil

Good hints, thanks everyone for chiming in. :D

What's the feeling regarding the wing size? If I look at the Delta Mono, it is relatively large with 1500cm2.
Is this rather an advantage, or an incovenience?

Check out Tamil Nadu in South India. 28 C Water, consistent wind, and a couple of amazing wave locations. :)
