Re: Covid-19 - How does it affect your kite-life?

... The truth is we dont know how dangerous this virus is. Look at Italy, 15,000 dead, 4,000 critical and 20,000 recovered. Only stats that have meaning to me ; that would be Las Vegas , (Clark County) : 1279 infected , 39 Dead , (according to John Hopkins) -------- That works out to be 3.0% death ...

Re: Covid-19 - How does it affect your kite-life?

If anyone has ever gone through hazmat training you'll agree how hard it is to avoid being contaminated. Fit test respirators, proper sequence to putting on and removing ppe , cleaning stations and on and on.At least research this subject if you're using gloves and masks. If doing,do it right.

Re: covid 19 closing beaches, any more to report?

No beach restrictions yet. Its still late winter and not an issue. If they do close the public beaches we have private waterfront properties we could kite from. Only a couple of us so we can keep our "social distancing " .No more high 5's while kiting past one another ! And getting a launch is not a...

Re: What makes the kite "catch" you?

I think each kite has its own characteristics to be learned, many times not better ,just different. The only problem that I have is when the kite gets under me and the pull causes the dreaded "slack line death fall " I've pushed past that incorrect sheeting and loop radius pretty much. If you've had t...

Re: slingshot compstick sentinel vs guardian control bars

I've only used the guardian,8 years so far. Great bar, lines etc. I don't have an issue "trimming " the kite. I'm not a constant adjuster ! Whatever I do is automatic ,I couldn't even describe my method. The above bar swivel works for about 11 minutes then you have to untwist by hand if you loop mor...

Re: Covid-19 - How does it affect your kite-life?

One thing is actual fact, not one person has contracted the covid virus while kiting. There was a suspected case ,some foilkiter but it was just the sniffles. Seems like the wakestylers are totally immune followed closely by the big air guys. This is not peer reviewed yet so don't quote me. :thumb:

Re: quick change hardware for boot/straps

You can purchase a bolt that has a molded in t knob.Used them for years on boards with 1/4" 20 inserts. Most boards are metric so you'll have to do some searching.
