Re: Looking for some drysuit repair advice..

Just to follow-up on this I've improved the "waterpoofiness" of the suit quite a bit but it's still not perfect. The aquaseal previously applied is definitely not coming off. The iron-patches were easy to put on using a hobby iron but they appear to be a little short on adhesive as the edges of the ...

Re: Looking for some drysuit repair advice..

I received the iron-on patches that I mentioned earlier. Haven't looked to see if the aquaseal I already put on can be removed but either way I think I have enough to overlap the leaky areas pretty well. Will try some tests this weekend using my hobby iron.

Re: Looking for some drysuit repair advice..

I'm not sure if bonding to goretex is different, but when doing kite bladder repairs with aquaseal it makes a huge improvement if you wipe it with alcohol first. Maybe the bond you got is not all that great. If you do more over a bigger area, wipe it with rubbing alcohol first. I'm pretty sure the ...

Re: Drysuits circa 2018

I ended up picking up a used Patagonia Kitesuit drysuit for cheap. However there are some leaks in the knee areas that I'm trying to fix. Post is here if any of you drysuit veterans are willing to chime in: http://www.kiteforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=2401301 @Foil: can you shoot me a link to the Gu...

Looking for some drysuit repair advice..

I picked up a used Patagonia "Kitesuit", a Gore-tex based shell-type drysuit which they sold for a short period of time. Unfortunately there were a bunch of leaks in the knee areas which caused my legs to get soaked after about an hour of kiting. I located the leaks and applied some aquaseal to the ...

I think it is battens just like on many other kites.
The weight is minimal, it is just to add some stiffness to the trailing edge.
You are correct; after writing about them here I started to notice that many kites have these.

Re: Eleveight RS 14m 2018 review

Trailing edge weights - Really? Is this the alternative to 'Bow Kite' scalloped TE to avoid the patent I wonder. According to the Tkb review they're referred to as "battens". I couldn't find a good photo on the interwebs although you can almost make it out in the main photo of their review (those c...

Re: Eleveight RS 14m 2018 review

High bar pressure on 13.5m, 2010? It has lightest bar pressure i had felt. Maybe your 12m from 2017 was with high bar pressure? How mk9 obsession compares to RS? We must have different kites or a different setup. The bar pressure on my Obessions is second only to the 17m 1st gen Cloud that I have (...

Eleveight RS 14m 2018 review

I've had this kite for a while now and feel I can give a decent review. This review is not sponsored but for full disclosure I picked the kite up for 15% off during the Eleveight promotion for being one of the first 200(?) to buy one of their kites. For those interested here you go: I'm an intermedi...

Re: Suggestions for 2018 July EU destination?

Toby, thank you for taking the time to respond but.... Insufficient data. Was hoping to get some short personal feedback; something along the lines of: "I was in XXXX over the same time period last year. The beach was not very crowded, kite-friendly, and good for all but the N direction (there's a b...
