Re: Least Evil 2.5m

I think we can all agree the tiny wings need more work. So if you’ve tried more than one brand in the 2.5 or 2m size, which ones were less evil? I’ve tried a few brands. I have not been impressed with any 2.5s in the last 4 years. Hi, I’ve been looking for a unicorn small / storm wing for a few yea...

Re: I Blame Windsurfers

Thank god for progress I say !! If we were still stuck with some of those v1 hand wings ( esp the Naish and Slingshot ones, which were frankly horrible ) the sport would never have gotten off the ground. Now we are in the “ I want more “ phase like what happened in windsurfing and kiting. I want mor...

Re: Lightest Wind Options

I reckon my bottom end for winging is around 8 knots. My LW set up is 7m Takoon v2, 107L board, Axis 1150 ( a real low end wing ). Had a pretty accurate wind meter nearby at my local spot for one session where I tried to figure out my ultimate bottom end , and when I looked at the readings when I go...

Gin Marabou v2 reviews ?

Starting a more specific thread focusing on the Marabou v2 as the other one seems to have become a Flysurfer / ConceptAir thread now. There is next to no info out there from people who have actually used this kite. If it does what Gin claim it could be amazing but I’d like to hear feedback from payi...

Re: Single skin foil kite with closed cell LE V2

@erwin703, thanks for your review- frustratingly little info around on what looks to be a great light wind foiling kite. Can you comment on the power the Marabou has for water starting? You mentioned that it doesn’t have the same “up-lift” as a closed cell kite, I’m wondering if it has enough power ...

Re: Off Topic - America's Cup Sailing - Foiled Monohulls

One of the real positives to emerge is when the AC75s capsize it doesn’t wreck the boat or especially the rig. They just come back upright and off you sail. Whereas the cats with the wing sails , if they go over and wreck the wing sail that could end the regatta for a team. Which is bad for the comp...

Re: Wingsurfing Right of Way

Here's a thought. How about kiteboarders get their own house in order before worrying about Wingsurfers . By which I mean staying two kiteline lengths away from each other ( 50m - as we were all taught) in an onshore breeze instead of doing speed runs 10m away from one another . There's some frickin...

Re: F-One bladder issues (again :( )

@Kjorn- I had the same issues with the valves cracking on my Furtives a year or so back, replaced two of the strut bladders ( PITA) , and superglued the other cracked connectors ( much easier) - so far so good. Hope that may help.

Re: Wingsurfing - Intel - forum topic?

There's some really ill-informed opinions going on here by people who have already decided this just won't work or won't be enjoyable. If you are actually interested in how this might unfold check out the wing.surf page on Facebook for latest updates and videos. A lot of folks already enjoying thems...

Re: Flysurfer Soul 12 difficult to handle at the top end

For me ( 80kg) the upper comfortable limit for jumping the 12m Soul is 20ish kts, maybe up to 22. I was using a 55cm standard Ozone Race bar but the trim range is actually not huge ( ie max differential between front and rear line length which translates into angle of attack). So I got a Kite Attitu...
