Re: The craziness is underway in Cape Town

March has been quite a quiet month, wind-wise and tourist-wise. Only had 9 sessions this month and its a lot less crowded. We had an awesome 25kn+ past Sunday so we planned to do a downwinder from Ganzekraal to Saldanha. Unfortunately, the wind dropped to about 15 knots at Tsaarsbank so we aborted t...

Re: Red Bull King of the Air 2020 - all info here

Maybe Sunday as well ? Sunday should also be 25kn+ but much more gusty(dangerous). No reason they cannot complete the contest in one day like they did back in 2013/2014. 34 heats x 8 minutes = 4.5hours. If they take a 5 minute break between heats it is 7 hours. If they start at 10:30 they can be do...

No live streaming for rounds 1 and 2.

Redbull seem to be most active on their facebook event page https://www.facebook.com/events/1060210 ... discussion

I'm not too sure we'll see 25 knots today. Thursday looks promising.

Re: The craziness is underway in Cape Town

I went out today between 5PM and 6PM on a 4m and strapless surfboard. Downwinder from Dolphin to Kreefte. I was a bit underpowered from Dolphin to Doodle then I got to Big Bay and the wind came through nicely and did the 4m justice. Waves were surprisingly clean for that much wind. Today was the las...

Re: The craziness is underway in Cape Town

It seems to have started getting more crowded this last week. We had some fantastic waves this past week but now its flat again for the next week. I see a sunfish every few session and it always scares me, especially when the sun is low. I kited out to the middle of the bay to watch the cape2rio yac...

Re: Semis Wednesday 13:00 - King of the Air 2019 - all info here

It's a pity there is no swell today so no kickers to get any decent height. The sea is going to be a choppy mess. It will favour the guys that are used to not using kickers to get their height. Sunday has some decent swell and strong wind but I guess it would be too risky running the comp on the las...
