Re: Naish Torque Bar - flag line knot slipped through stopper

I had the same thing happen. Inspect the black stopper very closely and you will almost certainly see a very small crack which allows the hole to open and the knot to slip through. It happened on a batch of the stopper balls, Naish made a stronger replacement.

Re: Heavy rider equipment

Get an Ozone Zephyr 17m. You will use it for half of all your kiting. Its a big powerful kite that has huge range and turns fast if you crank on it. I haven't found a better kite for big guys. I have owned three of them and It was a must have for teaching big guys to kite. The Cabrinha Contra 15,17...

Re: How small board for tall intermediate 220lbs/100kg rider

The design of the board has a huge impact, some boards ride much bigger than others. I had a 134cm Monarch (it was the longest model available for the first version) which was great and I weigh about the same as you, a few cm shorter. The 138cm Monarch of later versions I find rides really well, I f...

Re: Is kite boarding/ kitesurfing a boardsport or a kite sport?

It is both. I know what it isn't... sailing :-0 It is sailing. :jump: Foiling has actually taken it back closer to its sailing genesis. Having said that, free ride cruising on a foil or on a board is very different from kiting with a SB in waves or on a TT going for big air or freestyle tricks. The...

Re: Naish Stomp newer models

What is it that you don't like about the Monarch? I would have thought it is perfect especially at under 20 knots (if anything you might want to go smaller over 20 knots unless you are unhooking). The Monarch rides bigger than its length. The Stomp will be worse in low wind

Re: Naish 5th line to 4 line bar

Hi "runner1" - I appreciate you would not have that much throw on the bar but I have been riding Torch's for 5 years so am used to edging to kill the power, and like riding powered up. Did you convert the bar shown above ? I can't see any issues with the safety line pulling through the chicken loop...

Re: Naish 5th line to 4 line bar

Easy to do, but be warned the 5th line bar has a much shorter throw so you can't Depower the dash as much as with the normal bar

Sorry OZ guys,

But Melb or Syd cant beat Perth kiting. Specially Safety Bay which is a spot #1 on the Planet.

Non kiting is another matter. But than, with all that wind one needs to rest :)
I would have said Perth too for sure if the op hadn't mentioned the requirement for an interesting city

Re: Best city in world for kitesurf vacation

Cities? What are you looking for in a "city"? If you're just looking for somewhere nice to kitesurf, there are plenty of options. If you're looking for somewhere with convenient access to good kitesurfing that is also a large & interesting city with diverse cultural interest, nightlife, dining etc....

Re: Naish Pivot 2020

From a day to day point of view, while the time taken to put a valve in (versus crimping a normal one pump) is not much different, the octopus system deflates much more quickly. Overall I find my Naishs faster to pack than my Ozones.
