Is that the same wing, that is set as a kite in your avatar picture?
Well spotted!
Looks similar, almost the same orange fabric. The avatar is a kite and the other "toy" is my first wing prototype. Predecessor of the yellow "Freewing" on the other picture.

(YES, my side line/hobby/escape from working in the kite industry is designing kites - I could be someones case study...)
Best distraction I could think of :thumb:

The dacron is very stiff, so when folding over the seam-allowence to fix it with 3-zigzag I got a lot of wrinkles and it gets very difficult to sew. How can I manage to reduce wrinkles?
Cut out small triangles where the wrinkles develop until the dacron is lying flat when folded

what was good with Helix?
Gull shaped wings are aerodynamically superior...
Using the superior sigma shape is the first step in merging kite and wing designs. Most of the big brands are working on this new concept.
Great to see a new brand being one of the first :thumb:

Re: Free kite plans on GitHub

Try a lap seam! Much better on DCF as you can glue the 2 segments really well with double adhesive tape (15-20mm)! Then insignia on one side and 2x tripple zigzag with a finer needle/thread. Hi nick, we tried overlap seams a few times but always failed. At least with the Dimension Polyant dacron. T...

Re: Free kite plans on GitHub

yes for The LE. At the first time i use the usual seam with just one insigna. It was'nt enough. At the end of the first session i saw many rips (perpendicular at the LE seam, near 8mm) along the seam . But the LE didm't explode even with 0.8bar pressure. Unfortunately It was a "good test" :D Now it...
