Re: Skin Self-Repair?

Thanks for the input. I tried the duct tape & band aid approach today. It worked well. I just made sure that the strip of tape, more than covered the band aid. The band aid also adequately covered my abrasion. Only thing was that when I pulled it off I had slight abrasion around the edges, probably ...

Re: Fukushima - isn't it time we started worrying?

I think people enjoy being scared as the facts don't support any cause for concern. From Woods Hole Oceanographic Study, specifically on Fukushima radiation spreading throughout the Pacific , "The highest levels of cesium (10 Bq/m3) attributable to Fukushima that we have measured were found 1,500 mi...

Best advice I can give you is to take a 7. You will be pissed if it blows hard & you don't have one. Seen that mistake several times :D

Re: Controlling Speed

Probably having a lot of "throw" will help tremendously. Some older bars do not allow a lot of throw, i.e. amount you can flag the kite out. Other thing, and I won't tout the brand I purchased, is to get some new kites. Or newer if you can't afford new. I upgraded to 2017's & man what a difference. ...

Re: Moorea

I kited Moorea & Tahiti 17 years ago in October. I had a FLexifoil Blade 4.9, could launch it anywhere. It isn't (or at least wasn't) super ideal waveriding. It did get windy. It's just tough figuring out where to launch & land. Beaches are tight, the wind direction can vary. There is razor sharp co...

Best Hooded Rashguard?

Best Hooded Rashguard??? What's the best one for kiting? Guess it would need to be tight-fitting. Also some have the pocket on the back with the zipper. Seems like that would interfere with your harness, i.e. your harness might shove the zipper into your back.

Advice appreciated????

Cabrinha S-Quad vs. Naish Global?

I'm in the market for a new board. I want to make the right decision as I tend to use the hell outta my gear. I have had several Cabrinha directional boards, including what I consider to be the holy grail of directionals - The Cabrinha Trigger. Since my Triggers demise I've been riding an S-Quad & I...

Re: Discrete lines on Cabrinha Contra

Uh...yes...it's called "normal wear & tear". It happens when kites are used. Hell, I've even had some new kites with that. Nothing to worry about. Tell him he's worrying about nothing.
