Re: Wingsurfing - Intel - forum topic?

For many locations, like my home location for example, kiting will blow it away hands down every time because kiting gets the wind that is up high all the time. Kiting rules windsports!! 👍🤙

This thing is a waste of money for any beginner in a location like mine. Just go kiting. 😁

Re: Sliding spreader bar dimensions

The bar is usually bent so it will not get so high forces. If you have a tight rope, the connection will not be as stable in the middle of the rope. If you have a bit of slack it moves in opinion more controlled from side to side and is also stable in the middle. Yes, that is true. But in practice ...

Re: Sliding spreader bar dimensions

I use a 12" spreader bar for maximum range of motion. For my preferance, I like the 'A' distance to never exceed the distance that a hook would provide. This gives me good smoothness in motion. I find if too little distance and things moved too easily and too much cause more wear from more friction....

Re: Board leashes are cool for wave kite?

It looks like they are using longer leashes too. For years, I used a 12 foot big wave leash (distance is your friend and thicker too, for no slingshot effect). There are things you could do to further reduce the slingshot because you can feel where and what the board is doing behind you. I get hit i...

Board leashes are cool for wave kite?

What's the story on board leashes in the GKA? Does the GKA have a rule requiring them? For special situations maybe? Everyone is using them in this wipeout clip.

Re: Camber induced kites?

Faction kites back in 2003ish tried it. But they ever took off. Perhaps, it added complexity to manufacturing and cost?? Added weight?? Water capture and drainage issues?? For too small a gains??

Re: Unintended suicide mode on Core sensor 2+ bars

Trying to understand what happened here since I have never seen this happen with any Core bar before. I have to think that this is just a freak occurrence due to the position of the chicken dick pressing against the line?? 😬 It's an unusual sight. Don't do that again. Never had any sand issues with ...
