Re: record California waves

I live right there. The storm was too close to shore, so nobody really knew it was coming. Trees started blowing down. The period was only 15 sec. and it happened at 8 PM. By the next morning it was gone.

Re: Leaving bar attached to foil kites: why do lines twist?

I cannot image a way to twist the lines during the wrapping process. It has to be during unwrapping. It seems to happen to me when I unwind in a hurry and sometimes all 4 lines don't unwrap together... I should have been more clear. I agree that it's not the winding part that is where the crossing ...

Re: Leaving bar attached to foil kites: why do lines twist?

It's how you are strait I guess the raps on the bar. This use to happen to me occasionally as well before I changed how I begin the process of rapping my lines up. I use to start the raps with not much consistency . But now I start by: 1 pull chicken loop to be tight next to the bar 2. Fold the two ...

Re: FS Unity 10 bridle adjustments.

Hey Billie, I agree. My opinion is that they are not that horrible either. I don't twin tip. I just use them for the drifting with surf boards. Yes, I have fully removed the anti inversion bridals off of My unity's. It's a rediculus amount of needless lines. I think it's useless. I also removed the ...

Re: now foil kiters are saying their kites drift better

All the best wave foilboarders are biased toward inflatables - where? Who are wave foilboarders? There are like 3 people on earth who can proper foil wave ride with kite /they have to know surf foiling without kite/. From this you can hardly draw any conclusion. You are right in that my personal sa...

Re: now foil kiters are saying their kites drift better

BUT and it's a big BUT. To this date, I have not seen a foil that is guaranteed to hold its shape with extended total slacklines. Peter Lynn's. Insanely balanced drift. I used to stick myself in the worst places on the wave while drifting , f*** it up, get Maytaged, roll for who knows how long with...

Re: now foil kiters are saying their kites drift better

And I must dmit that I wouldn’t have thought to admit that foil kites might have a place when wave riding. and to my complete surprise, it was doable. So far I have been pure strapless surfboard and Neo rider. Not that I’ll be changing my quiver but I was truly rusprised what can be done even with ...
