Re: Surfboard for big waves

Most production boards are intended to be all around, they will be heavy and produced cheaply in Asia. In adition to this they only make a few sizes .... I would get a custom with XTR construction (tell them it s for kitesurfing) and you can choose from the most popular surfboards models/brands tha...

Re: Surfboard for big waves

North cross “Cross was created to shred the waves in an ever-changing surf playground, ride real-world onshore conditions, flatwater and chop. It provides generous volume and width for a fun, forgiving ride with great upwind speed, and solid pop for freestyle tricks” Definitely not what i’d pick fo...

Re: Untangling bridle on foil kite- do I have to start with “A” line?

With due respect, do not be afraid of disconnecting the bar. I used to be afraid of disconnecting the lines in fear of making things worse. But, In general: do not disconnect the bar. In general: the bridal lines are not usually actually tangled but they are twisted. Generally the pulleys will be ho...

Re: Surfboard with foil kite?
are not that nice because the kite flaps and yanks the bar a fair bit while depowered in stronger wind. Compared to a good wave LEI that lets you dump all power instantly and remains stable and responsive, the Peak was nowhere near as enjoyable.
Are the Hybrids like this? Do they f...

Re: Surfboard with foil kite?

The upwind ability might be a bigger issue then. I’m going to go out on a limb and say that I believe the whole idea of upwind issues is kinda overblown. I feel like, yes high aspect ratio kites go up wind better. But I really feel like it’s more to do with rider skill. I’m the weird dude still rid...

Re: Surfboard with foil kite?

To each their own, but ripping any substantial waves will make you fall at some point and dropping your kite in the break while getting tossed around is already not a lot of fun with an inflatable. With a ram air, that would be no flotation, it will actually pull you down as it starts filling. And ...

Re: Surfboard with foil kite?

All day, every day.
Side note, that’s a 19 meter Flysurfer Psycho 4 in about 10 knots. I seem to break all the “rules”.
Don’t believe all the nay sayers in life everywhere. There’s plenty of positives and plenty of negatives to both types of kite. Use what you like, not what “should” be used.

Re: Hero Inflatable Rashguard

Hi Zurki I actually use their Inflation vest for surfing. I spoke to the guys in Australia that make them a few years ago. Super nice guys. I really don't know the status of the rashguards but if they are availible I recommend them. I've never actually used it kiting with a harness but I can hazard ...

Slingshot Gaurdian Talon

I'm looking to see if anyone out there has any of the Slingshot Gaurdian Talon slider chicken loop parts. Slingshot stoped making them a while ago.
Thanks

Re: Flysurfer Hybrid for downwind on a surfboard

I'd love to know if anyone is using the hybrid for pure surfboard wave riding as well. But I'd like to know about up wind performance as well. I'm assuming the drift is matched to what the foil guys claim but they are all ridding the tiny sizes. Anyone out there using the large sizes for down the li...
