Re: New Woo jump record: 33.9m

Seems to me a lot of people don't really care anymore about new jump records...

Re: Standalone ChickenLoop QuickRelease?

5 days and the Gong/AKA CL-QR was here. When the line is doubled it is easy, and just space for a safety line in the center too. But using a single depower line and any kind of knot in the rotor I could think of, there is not room for a safety line :-? Doesn't matter for hydrofoiling, but needed fo...

Re: Same Line length (Splicing)

What worked for me: Measure the splices and use a pencil to mark them. Then splice one side of the lines first, attach the lines to a fixed point and walk them out, get some tension on the lines and mark them at the same length. Then splice the other side. Got my 20m lines within a mm from each othe...

Re: Standalone ChickenLoop QuickRelease?

Faxie, they say to replace the chicken loop very year on the Gong/Kite Attitude QR. Do you find this to be true, does it wear quickly because there's room for sand to get in the CL tube and abrade the rope? Apparently, it's required with the Afnor standard and that's why they mention it. I did have...

Re: Standalone ChickenLoop QuickRelease?

Thanks Faxie, in the video two things appear. Video #2, the first one doesnt show as much. The center hole is quite big, two 4 mm lines and a safety line can fit. And it seems like you can use one 4 mm line only, and tie a knot inside (end knot/stopper knot), which will be the desired use of course...

Re: Standalone ChickenLoop QuickRelease?

The Gong one can be used. You just wrap the line around the swivel, and assemble the body around it. So you need a double depowerline, or a single one with a loop at the end.

The swivel needs soms force to turn though... not a smooth system.

Re: Element 7 - All Terrain Freeride Kite - Switch Kiteboarding

Except switch are way cheaper than ikon. And same kites. Interesting obviously someone knows something about direct sales and don't think it's ikon. I could walk into any shop and buy name brand for same price as ikon. Hard to justify buying an ikon. Unless there an awesome kites they no doubt prob...

Re: Element 7 - All Terrain Freeride Kite - Switch Kiteboarding

No smaller sizes (3,4,5m) with only one strut like the element 6 Always thought that was odd, to have such a different structure based on kite size. Curious if they will come out with a different line of one strut kites. That's becasue the originals from Ikon had a XS version with one strut. For th...

Re: From which jumping height the heliloop is mandatory?

I land with heliloops most of the time, but I feel I really need them a lot at 12+ jumps in gusty winds. Not really in the mood to check it the landings still work without downloop with the kite so much behind me... I also think it's dependant of things like rider weight, board size/position during ...
