Re: 15m Strutless

I've flown my 17m cloud in 6-7 knots with a spaceskate, 72cm mast, dwarftcraft 4.6, 70kg. Did the same with my simulator board and h5 (nf2, timecode 57) in cuba :). Very over powered with the spaceskate. It's fun trying :)

Re: Smaller lower aspect wing vs. bigger higher aspect

If you size a low aspect wing and a high aspect wing so that they have the same amount of lift at a particular speed, the high aspect wing will be smaller, and make less drag, thus allowing it to accelerate further. However at low speeds it will stall before the high aspect wing and it will require...

Re: Game changer Electric future foil idea for kites or Wings

Put the pod/scooter/jet on the back of an impact vest, thrusting “down.” Lying back in waterstart position it will tension lines, once kite & rider are up it is out of the water. Have it shut off in low/no load condition, forget and ride. Doubles as rescue assist if you lose everything else.... It ...

Re: Do you step off gracefully?

I usually just slow down and plop. Been experimenting with coming in slow, put hand on board and let legs drag in water while board foils beside me.. it's a work in progress. Really dig the strapless style of that ketos foilboarder on youtube.

Re: Kite falling in lulls

No problem, thanks for your input. I've been most successful with this method, but I'm sure not everyone will agree. I'm usually riding in ~8 to max 25knots. Rarely 30+. I've kept my kite lower on a rocking 30+ day and the gusts were nearly knocking me over with an 8m prodigy (Im 70kg), but slightly...

Re: Kite falling in lulls

When walking across the beach in stronger/gusty conditions, the lower the kite the more it's going to pull you around. It's easier to pull you around laterally than it is to lift you. If you keep your kite higher and depowered you'll have an easier time getting to the water as the kite has to fight ...

Re: Kite falling in lulls

Yanking the front line will only pull the leading edge toward you. If you keep pulling it'll go past the "point of no return" and "hindenburg". Does the kite kinda fly over your head before it happens? Does it happen when you fly the kite close to noon? I've had higher aspect kite do this to me in t...
