Re: riding north coast dominican republic east and west of cabrete

Re: riding north coast dominican republic east and west of cabrete

How would you define “fine time”? And how would you compare the winds in March compared to maybe...July or august? Just curious.. How many kitable days should one expect...if they spent a week of precious vacation time in cabarete? (during March) ok. i believe it is rather irresponsible to state it...

Re: riding north coast dominican republic east and west of cabrete

Hello. I have been living here full time for 9 years. I have had a kite school since 2017. March is a fine time for wind. The worst time for wind is Oct-Nov. Sometimes a hurricane will suck the wind away in Sept. But most other times....we have plenty of wind. I wrote this, hope it helps. It include...

Re: Cabarete september

Actually, Nov-Dec is the rainiest time of the year, with Dec being the rainiest month historically. That being said, we have been in major drought mode since we didn't really get any rain last rainy season. It's been so bad that they have been turning off the water from the water company every other...

Re: Cabarete Kite Beach - solo traveler tips

Ali's Surf Camp is nice. I'm not fully updated on which restaurants are still there, but: Front Loop: love the breakfast. Been there 50+ times. Number 7 is great (egg wrap). Pomodoro: Great pizza (if I remember correctly Toby doesn't like it though - so might be just me). Le Bistro: A bit more clas...

I have a Suunto Ambit 3. It is expensive, but very cool with a lot of apps you can add. Make sure you get the crystal front because it doesn't scratch.

Re: Spanish Lessons/Kitesurfing

Hola! I have been living in Cabarete almost 8 years and have a kite school here. I wrote an article that discusses the wind history here: http://kiteboardingcabarete.com/blog/wind-season-cabarete/ April is not the windiest of months here, but in 3 weeks you should get a decent amount of windy days. ...

Re: Cabarete Kite Beach - solo traveler tips

Hey! I have been living in Cabarete almost 8 years. It's such a great place that I ended up buying a kite school and opening a restaurant on Kite Beach. In general, Cabarete is pretty safe. You need to keep your head on straight like you would in any unfamiliar area. Don't walk alone in super dark a...
