It blows pretty good .
I Kited at a marina just outside Belize city .
Best bet is hire a panga and go island hoping.

Uh all depends I guess. In my opinion long lines suck for kite loops it is hard to get above your kite so yeah there harder to do sick kiteloops with but generaly easier to learn with. Short lines make it easy to get level with your kite, but a lot harder to stick the landings. Hey toby lets have a ...

Beginers should have leashes no doubt, but if the instructor has open ocean and a rescue boat then the kite gets less tangles when the student lets go. maybe thats why he was not wearing a leash, but the student must also be told to use a leash when they don't have boat support. Hey Armin.
It sounds like you are on a mission to prove the FS has fun factor, so why don't you enter the bimini race?
Rumour has it there might be a couple of best kites in the race and I would love to see who is faster in open ocean with massive surf.

Teaching without a leash in a wide open bay avoids a lot of tangles ,and cab dont have a leash .
nice teaching teck works for me .
