Re: I give in

I second the opinion about the Lift 110. It is a perfectly good all around foil to start with and to stick with for years. Too many new foilers end up investing in one foil to learn and then spend more money a year later for a new foil. Something like the 110 will help you avoid that expense. Also, ...

Re: BRM Clouds arbitrage opportunity

For sure he isn't aiming to stop the free market. And I am sure that he is happy that people have found ways to get them (if they are happy). But I imagine that he is also happy to have the time he needs for testing, and testing again and again. A lot of that time he would give up if he were dealing...

Re: How do I get traction on the surface of my Alaia?

I have a friend who put this on his wood alaia type board. It is pretty clear (not clear as glass but as clear as white wax when applied I would say...so you can still see the wood nicely). I was skeptical about how the grip would be because it is not "sandy" which is nice since it would not abrade ...

Re: Cloud vs Reo.

This is so true: "When comparing Clouds the other kite make sure you know which generation Cloud is being compared." I love the D's specifically because when in high wind relative to kite size I can depower them to nearly zero pull and I can make them turn when very sheeted out....when I want to tur...

Re: the right sized kite

What foil? Some foils are too slow and/or have too much drag to create enough apparent wind from an "underpowered" kite so you need to ride bigger than someone on a higher performance low-drag foil. I thought it was the other way around. The bigger the wing, more lift so you can ride with a smaller...

Re: One strut kites - which the lightest of them all?

My disclaimer: I am long time retired and kiting is my post-retirement hobby. I pay for all my kites. For the past few years I have owned only Clouds. I do indeed know the BRM owner and he mailed me a one strut Cloud to try and I mailed it back after a couple of days of use. Although I have no finan...

Re: One strut kites - which the lightest of them all?

e. I used my 10.4D yesterday ....... I had my hands on (and flew) the single strut Cloud D (ie. the D_1). Did the strut make a difference? I found that the D_1 performs very, very closely to the D (strutless....now known as D_0, but the same a s D). I flew them back to back a number of times. Most ...

Re: One strut kites - which the lightest of them all?

Agree with Peter...exact precise area measurement are not so important. And weigh the kites to be certain. I have weighed my Clouds when new and the weights have generally been a 10 to 50 grams less than those listed on the website. I used my 10.4D yesterday and it is still damp and a little sandy. ...
