Re: North Kiteboarding Meeting in Daklah

Nice range... but seems quite ordinary. Hard to see if there is any real innovation beyond the usual marketing. I wish they had managed to come up with something really different, like the aluula material. Powerful brand with true innovation would have been a killer... I’d still like to try that Car...

Re: Twintip damage can I repair it? Gash 5 cm

I have a Naish Motion 138 (exact same board as yours) that suffered the same kind of damage in 2 places: front and back fins on the left side. It likely met the weels of a luggage truck when going to Turks and Caicos... I patch it up with epoxy and a layer of fiber glass on top of the damaged areas,...

Re: Pocket Board (HF) Layup Question

Just normal low density polystyrene.
The white one with small balls...

I don’t jump the board it if pure strapless.
The previous one came between 3 and 3.5 kg.
I haven’t weighted this one yet. I suspect it is a bit heavier has I went a bit overboard on resin quantity...

Re: Pocket Board (HF) Layup Question

I’m not an expert but seems too light.
I’m currently building another pocket and I have 2x6oz of carbon and 6oz of glass on each side + a strip of 12oz carbon on the length of the board
+ wood stringers

Re: Vibram five finger booties for kiteboarding

I have been using vibram 5 fingers for one season. The very light water specific model model.
Granted, only in fresh water, no sand... perfect feeling strapless. Still OK in straps. And I have not cut my foot this season!

Re: Kites for teenagers

I asked the same question last year. Search on kiteforum.ca
I got lots of recommendations for a flysurfer Viron (4m or 6m). I could not find one used, so ended up buying an ozone access 4m to get my 10 yrs old to practice on skis in light wind.
