Re: Footstrap size and position

tautologies, cheers for the tips. When you say heels should be off the side of the board, roughly how far? One thing I often struggle with is my heels dragging in the water and pulling the board round (usually end up in near crash moment!) Is this just because I’m not riding the fins enough or are m...

Re: Footstrap size and position

Yeah tightening the straps is what I have done, hopefully this will help. My problem is I have big feet so I can only have them so tight before my feet are pushed off the side of the board. I now have the straps as far in as I can get them and as tight as they will go before my heel is hanging too f...

Re: Footstrap size and position

I had a look at mine again last night and compared my foot position in the strap to some pictures and videos of racers. My foot is definitely a lot further under the strap than most. I have adjusted them as much as I can so my foot is still in the same position but the strap sits further down, I wil...

Footstrap size and position

I know there is already a thread on-going about foot strap position but my question is less about position more about the size setting of the strap (i.e. how open it is) I have a lot of trouble getting my feet out of my straps, my feet are so well locked in that it takes a lot of wriggling and movin...

line length

Hi, I snapped a line yesterday so I’m in the process of looking for a new set. Just wondering what the pros and cons are for different length lines? Am I right in thinking longer lines will be better in lighter winds but will make the kite turn slower? If so how much difference does it make? Is ther...

Re: dealing with chop?

It is happening when i'm going up wind, it all happens so quick it hard to tell what it is but it could be the fins. I think i probably need to get some better fins that are suited to me and the board. We are pretty much at the end of our seasson now though so i'll probably leave it till next year. ...

Re: dealing with chop?

oh my days!! that video is epic, I would kill to be able to ride even half as good as that! I managed to get out today after work, and thanks to your tips Gunnar I was riding much better. Going hard up wind was much better, trying to keep my legs straighter and leaning back felt much better. One thi...

Re: dealing with chop?

Oh yeah, good shot of the up wind position. I have been watching the racing in Africa and couldn't work out why they were leaning so far back but that photo shows it really well So I'm guessing to keep the board flat its more toe pressure? It's looking like there might be some wind for me tomorrow s...

Re: dealing with chop?

Cheers for all the advice! Very helpful. I managed to get out yesterday on some flat water this time. I changed my fins over to the Cabrinha fins fro my old board. It felts a lot better that the other ones, much more like my old board. I didn't stay out for long as I had injured my ankle surfing the...
