I wonder why slingshot used white for some of the leading edges on the ufo v2?
They ran out of black material at that time and still had grey material left from the V1.1 builds?

Re: Slingshot UFO V3

Has anyone owned both the UFO V2 and UFO V3 in any of the smaller sizes and can compare the kites both in construction and flying characteristics?

Fred mentioned a lot about the new bar and that they did work on some bridle refining. Just curious if anyone can comment.

Re: Slingshot UFO V3

5m Peak in 20+ is definitely a handful, but I don’t really like the 4m version. That size is the only one that I’ve had consistent swims with, an awkward crash and momentariy loss of kite control put it in the water very quickly. I’m using it at a spot with waist to head high breaking waves that in...

Re: Slingshot UFO V3

Bought a 5m v3 in November to be met with a month of offshore winds or work appointments. Had my first run yesterday in 20-24 kts at 88kg. I’m used to flying Peaks 4s, I would have used the P4 5m yesterday. . Just a couple of comments: you would use a Peak4 5m in 20-24 knots? i think I would be usi...

Re: UFO V2 vs. BRM Cloud

The Clouds tend to invert on a powerful loop, esp 6m on down. Once it inverts the first time, the structure of the kite becomes less stiff and inversions begin to happen more often. Once it inverts, you gotta go back to the beach and undo it manually. After a whole lot of these inversions, I subcon...

Re: Cloud vs UFO

If you want to really experience drift, try a Flysurfer Hybrid. I did a back to back comparison today with my 3.7m Cloud and the 3.5m Hybrid and the Hybrid is really amazing. Easily the best swell-riding kite I’ve tried (which is not a long list because I jumped straight to clouds from older SSTs)....

Re: Slingshot UFO V3

Hey guys, Fred Hope here. Excited to see the chatter about our latest kitefoil products. The changes on the UFO were more minor than the kitefoil bar and Hopecraft. We tuned and adjusted all sizes and designed the 10m as an addition to the line. This size kite has become my third favorite after the...

Jeeeez, how far have we gone into pricing insanity to now having "DLAB" and "saving $" in the same sentence!
