Re: Pivot evolution

I flew a friend's Core XR6 10m the other day for about 20 minutes. I have to say it was dull and slow compared to my 10m Pivot.

Re: Pump kite with portable air compressor

The new manual 2 stage/direction XL pumps work great. It takes me less than a minute to pump my 12m kite and I honestly don't mind the warm up...

Re: line knife or hook knife, slightly bigger one recommendations

Definitely a good idea. However, I'm still unclear on how often people use their line knives to save themselves in a kite accident. I've never done so and I've never heard of anyone doing so. I'm just trying to gather data, not saying it doesn't happen. I know that "all it takes is once" to make it...

Re: line knife or hook knife, slightly bigger one recommendations

These knives all look good when new. The big question is how they perform after 4 years of saltwater and sitting in the harness pocket without any care or attention. I recall the early ones were all totally toast. My Dakine cut well the last time I checked - which was probably 4 years into usage. A...

Re: line knife or hook knife, slightly bigger one recommendations

I use Eezycut Trilobite divers knives with harness mount and which have replaceable blades. They come in many different colours - black is not a good choice in case visibility is difficult or someone else has to grab the knife and cut you free. https://www.aquanauts.co.uk/products/eezycut-trilobite...

Re: Pivot evolution

I have got my 2020 11m and also have the 2015 11m. The quadtex feels nice. Honestly though I am not feeling much difference in the kite. I haven't flown them side by side though. Perhaps the new ones are more solid in strong winds, I haven't had a chance to try that out yet. The new bag is somewhat...

Re: Please help to open SA beaches for kitesurfers

I just don't get how giving people fewer places to go makes anything safer. It seems to me that the more options that are available the less crowded other places will be. Wear a mask, wash your hands, stay home if sick or if someone in your home is sick, and live your fucking life...
