Re: How to turn a topic about a fatality into an absurd helmet discussion

I agree it is about fashion. Helmets are always beneficial when you smack your mellon on a hard object, that's why I wear a helmet foiling and most likely always will. Beyond foiling, I choose not to wear a helmet because I feel the risk is low and I prefer the feeling of the cool breeze and sun tan...

Re: Kite sugestions for foiling in 15 knots

I own a 12m Soul, perfect for my spot at Colombia usualy Between 8 - 10 knots, I foil 1 year ago, with big wing (Moses 679 with 91 carbón mast). But when it gets from 11 to 15 knots (never more here) my Soul 12 M is too much powerfull. I am thinking in buying a new kite, which size/Brand do yo sugg...

Re: Kiting with back injuries? How bad is your back?

Similar to an earlier poster, I found that seat harnesses aggravated my chronic lower back problems. All that torsion from the harness locked onto my hips was a bad thing. I switched to a waist harness, and now a hard shell waist harness. The constant flexing and twisting has worked as perfect phys...

Re: New to Kiteboarding, where to learn?

OBX is one of the best places to learn to kiteboard. Flatwater and waist-deep for miles. Both Real and Kitty Hawk have great instructions and teach off jetskis. I have friends who have struggled to learn elsewhere (more due to conditions that instructors) but have cracked it on the Sound in OBX cos...

Re: New to Kiteboarding, where to learn?

You can't beat OBX for learning...good wind and endless waist-deep water. Real has a great setup and lots of options to get you to where the wind is. I would also highly recommend Ty Luckett at Kitehatteras.com, he had my friend up and riding after a few lessons...

Re: Figured out why the age old problem of Waist harness riding up

I've seen people who have a waist harness that sits really low on their hips. Almost looks like a high seat harness. Always wish I could use a waist harness like that. My waist harness sits higher on my hips, at the space between my ribs and waist. But always wants to ride up. I figured out that it...

Re: Should I start with Waist or seat harness?

Seats are more comfortable, won't ride up, won't twist, and will allow you to focus on the kite and not on readjusting your tit harness every five minutes.
