Re: 2009/2010 wave kite to upgrade from 2007 Cab. Switchblad

Update on kite selection: I bought the 2009 Helix in 8 and 10.5 m and enjoy them. Fast turning, stable, and good grunt. Depower is pretty good, not as much as 2007 Switchblade. The biggest difference between the 2009 Helix to the 2007 Switchblade is faster turning and excellent drift in surf conditi...

Hammer

The Hammer 138 rips in chop and junky waves. A great all around board for the flats or coast. :thumb:

support reply from Cabrinha

I got a reply from Cabrinha Support and they say the smaller chicken loop shouldn't effect the kite, only the position of fully sheeted in. They suggested that my lines may be different lengths. Here's the reply: Aloha Frank, Changing out your chicken loop sizes should have no effect on how the kite...

Strange flying kite

I was reading an article in kiteboarding mag with a waroo bar mod to the chicken loop position. They shortened the back lines. Not sure if the waroo bar has a pulley. In my situation, the switchblade kite depower strap was not engaged. The kite was slow turning and fell back in the window. It was a ...

Smaller Chicken Loop and shortening back lines ?

If I replaced the Large Stock Chicken Loop on my Switchblade to a smaller Chicken Loop( about 2-3" smaller in length). Will I have to shorten the back lines? The Switchblade bar has pulleys. I was flying my 12m SB in gusty light wind conditions. The kite dropped back out of the sky 4-5 times collaps...

Stashing board and kites in gold bag...

going to Maui. Haiku and Paia sounds great. Thanks for all the ideas. Since we're only going for a week, I plan on renting a surfboard. I hate paying for extra baggage fees. I'm bringing my kite gear in a Callaway golf bag. My 132 LF Drop barely fits and hopefully so will my 9m and 12m Switchblades....

Maui sounds like a good choice...

thanks for the tips. I haven't been to Maui in a long time, but I remember a relaxed stay in Paia, with surfing in Hookipa in the morning and sailing kanaha in the afternoons. My wife has never been to Maui, so I think she'll love it even though it's only for one week.
