Re: Superfoil Wingsurfing - Day 1

Toby, Big thanks for the play by play account of this gathering of wing talent. Sounds like an epic event. Do you know if anyone is capturing the action on video and where it might be posted online? Also, has watching any of the action made you to think about picking up a wing and having a go at it?...

Re: Rocker Modification for early takeoff

Very interesting subject. I was under the impression that a step up before the kicktail bevel would help break the attachment of the water flowing over the kicktail earlier as Alex is proposing in his modification. However, after looking up the Coanda effect on Wikipedia, it seems like it could have...

Re: Seat Harness Manufacturers

Well Dakine Windsports being sold off might just explain why I have not heard anything from Dakine on a warranty claim for the spreader bar on my Vega seat harness that I submitted a couple weeks ago. The hook on the spreader really looks like it was beefed up from previous ones which commonly broke...

Re: Kitemare warning about crossed lines!

Very much glad to hear you are doing ok after that kitemare incident and thanks for sharing it with the community. I have observed and increase in incidents where I have grabbed the wrong side of the bar over the past couple of years since using foil kites to hydrofoil in lighter conditions. It typi...

Re: Wingfoil board 160x60 70 lt

Nemoz, Thanks for the great information, I did not know XPS material property requirements varied by country, that's good info to know. It is also good to hear some success stories with XPS as it has some superior properties. I had used a similar density XPS from Dow for a surfboard years ago and di...

Re: How can I attach a stopperball in front line?

I bought some of these of knotless stopper balls and installed one on my Ozone front line and on only my second session after the install my front line broke right at the stopper ball! It was installed per the picture. Note: There is a sharp ridge on the ball between two of the holes where the line ...

Re: Wingfoil board 160x60 70 lt

Very impressive looking build! I've got a couple of questions if you don't mind me asking: 1. What density and brand of XPS did you use? 2. What were the dimensions of the XPS block you started with? 3. Did you take any special precautions to prevent delamination/bubbles down the road with the XPS? ...

Re: high aspect foils

I am also trying to understand the front wing dimensions of all the foil models available from different manufacturers on an apples to apples basis. I saw an image of a comparison table that appears to do this. Does anyone know where to find a link or a copy of the full document shown below? I ran a...

Re: Hand numbness while winging

An update on trying the prototype handle covers out today. The conditions were from under powered to over powered on the F-One 6m Swing. Both the handle covers seemed to provide significant relief from the previous experienced finger/hand numbness. I liked the formed plastic prototype 1 handle cover...

Re: Lift 250?

In my short experience with the two, the Armstrong 1600 seemed to provide a more locked in/stable feeling when up and foiling. Note that I was using the smaller 34 back wing on the Lift which may have made for a looser ride.
