Re: Situation in Bahrain. Is it possible to kite there now?

I'm just over the causeway in Saudi, but certainly wouldn't count on kiting there. Most kite spots are off the beaten track. Probably not a great idea to go MIA these days. Google 'skate shack bahrain' (local bicycle/kite shop) and Bahrain Yacht Club for phone numbers to speak to someone in the know...

Re: Egypt: El Gouna & Soma Bay

I'm headed to Cairo and then El Gouna this week. Really looking forward to the trip though will only have 3 days on the water at the Movenpick. I'm curious what kind of experience you had flying with gear into Hurghada. I'm debating whether to bring my golf bag with board or just kites and rent a bo...

Hurghada advice

Ok, so a friend and I, avid kiters, will be traveling with our wives, non kiters, and 4 kids, 2 each, future kiters, to Hurghada in September. Been looking at Magawish for the kiting, but the wives are concerned that it won't be as comfortable as they'd like. Mixed reviews online. Can anyone outline...

Re: Airlines now accepts kiteboarding gear....

I've probably traveled 8-10 times with kitegear in both a golf bag and medium/large coffin type bag. Tips for travel without excess charges:

1. Be polite
2. Look the part
3. Hold a frequent flyer card
4. Arrive early before all the other passengers piss off the check in people

Re: Kitesurfing in Fuerteventura in the summer anyone?

A buddy and I have July 15 - 23 lined up for a kitetrip and fuereventura is on the radar. Are you guys putting together the odd trip or do you have recurring trips? What's the general make-up of kiting to partying with these trips? Leaning more towards kiting than 5am blowouts. Wife is letting me go...

Re: Anyone kiteboarding in Jeddah?

Everyone rides their jetski because, from my experience, most Saudis are very poor swimmers. Not to ruin the party, but all I read about in the local papers is the vast amount of raw sewage pumped into the Red Sea from Jiddah each day...It might be worthwhile to find out where the sewage is pumped i...

Re: Maldives and Kitesurfing?

I've been to the Maldives twice, most recently December 08 at Bandos, both times with kites. The wind forecast was good both times, but I had a total of one day under a kite. The first resort had something of a lagoon to work from, but Bandos has a great house reef for diving, but miserable for kiti...

Re: 5 star hotels with kite station around the world

I'm headed to Bandos Resort, Maldives during the first week of December with the hope of minimal diving and lots of kiting, so we'll see. I know the watersports center doesn't offer kiting as an activity, but the sales department mentioned I could bring my gear and would have to take a speedboat to ...

Re: 2 Year Old -Youngest Kitesurfer In The World

My wife just saw the photos and thought they must've been photoshopped...I'm not allowed to bring my son into the pool until his 6 month jabs...and imagine he'll have facial hair before he's allowed under a kite... :P

Re: Saudi Arabia Advice! Has Anybody Kited Down There?

Well, there's always another side to every story...canned beer? If you want to pay and know a hookup. Homebrew and distilled, plenty. Good looking expat women, mostly over 35..., if you know where to look. Weekend? Thursday and Friday. Religious beliefs of local kiters? Don't really give a damn if t...
